Taking this SA team lightly is sure to bite in bum. A top order collapse for NZ this morning and everything changes.

First and only priority - win this series.

    SA batting.

Cricinfo says there is three changes. Young, O’Rourke AND Wagner in. Not sure how they’ve reshuffled that !

For me, Wagner is the risky selection.

We'll see how he goes, though.

The world has gone mad, I genuinely feel for Santner missing out !

Also would love KJ to get another run before the Oz series.

This really smacks of complacency to me.

Really is a test with an eye on Australia, rather than a standalone potential series winning test against SA.

    From Southee...

Tim Southee, NZ captain, says they were looking to have a bowl. Hope there's a bit of assistance early on. Three changes: Daryl is out, Will Young comes in. Four seamers. Neil Wagner is in for Mitch Santner. Kyle Jamieson pulled up sore, so Will O'Rourke come in on debut. We know Wagner wears his heart on his sleeve and will give his 100%. So looking forward to that, excited to see what Will, an exciting young quick, has got.

Seddon Park offers more bounce now and doesn't usually assist the spinners, so Santner would have been a luxury despite his heroics in the 1st test.

Genuinely think we have a proper test bowler in O'Rourke with a decent career potential. Doesn't guarantee he has a great debut, coz reasons. But very pleased for him.

Surprised they didnt pick Santner, never been a fan of him and his record isnt flash. But he never gets to play consecutive tests.
Again not unhappy to see him not picked.

Seddon Park. Last I knew, has the wicket block divided in half with 2 seperate types of clay used in the 2 halves. One half favours spin, probably the most in the country. But they pretty much never used that side for the internationals.

But pitches get relayed every few years. Don't know if this is still the state of the pitch, anyway. Even if so, irrelevant for the test, as they don't use it. But judging the pitch based on televised Super Smash games can be misleading for this reason.

Brand equals his highest test score with that single shot.

    Fuck that was good.

Terrific seeing Henry finally doing consistently well too especially with Boult gone and Southee and Wagner surely a bit uncertain as to how long they’ll go on.

@MN5 Agree about Henry's success, but he's hardly the future either at 32.
