Nah, it's a separate topic, and allows people to find stuff they are interested in more easily. Should be split.

Yeah I like Nicks posts about that stuff but it gets lost in the crowd

so split the threads then - dunno why you're asking us, you're the boss - this isn't some Russian democracy 😎

Am actually thinking it is ...

Freedom within a framework. It works, provided the players have the intelligence and physical prep to implement it.

@KiwiMurph Is Schmidt impressed by soccer dives? Aimless kicking? Otherwise he's shit out of luck.

@KiwiMurph How do you owe $6M to board members?

    Did some provide personal loans?

That's absolute fuckery, if true. You're on the Board to ensure things run smoothly. Popping your own cash into the venture creates a massive conflict of interest.

Just about to say that. Competence is low from the top down if the board, the fucking board, loaned them money!!

    It's fucking ridiculous.

Even if RA were able to supply funding at pre-COVID levels, it wouldn't have covered the bills the rebels racked up.

Club volunteers all over the country must be wondering what the fuck is happening, and why the fuck they're bothering to support a code that has run off the rails so spectacularly

How in the fuck does one team rack up debts that amount to 75% of the national broadcast revenue? That kind of figure blows the "this is because the ARU weren't paying us enough" out the window, because it looks a lot like they were living waaaay beyond their means.

Rugby in Australia apparently needs to get past the notion that it's competing with the NRL and the AFL, and realise it's actually competing with the A-League (who, incidentally, get $10m more a year out of their broadcast deal). A niche domestic sport with a strong international presence.
