    Sweet as bro!

First two episodes. On course to be a classic.

    Constellation.

Found it too messy, convoluted, slow and predictable. Jonathan Banks was outstanding though.

    The Sympathizer might be interesting

North Vietnam spy The Captain (Hoa Xuande) ends up living in a South Vietnamese refugee community in Los Angeles and finds his loyalty tested in the limited series based on Viet Thanh Nguyen's novel of the same name.

Robert Downey Jr is in it.

@Victor-Meldrew yeah I didn't mind it once I realised what was happening but didn't feel it was clear enough, as you say, messy.

Banks was good and integral to what was going on.

    American Rust

I've watched both seasons so far of this tale about a rust belt town in south-western Pennsylvania, USA. It's typical Jeff Bridges TV series where nuance and complexity exist - practically no-one is without flaw or fault of some kind.

Set up well for a third season which I hope they make.

Easy watch but very tempted to say don't bother because the season ending is fucking abysmal. Maybe wait for season 2 and don't bother if there isn't one.

Whilst Bridges could easily have been cast in it, it's Daniels steering this ship.

    Excellent two seasons.

I'll give it a go then because I love Death of Stalin. I watch it every few months, like Sicario.

Fallout on Amazon Prime has started well, very faithful adaption and loved the gore. Has the batshit crazy of the game.

3 eps into Fallout, which is pretty good.

Given there have been plenty of game adaptations, this one seems to be the only one I can recall where it seems they have included some NPCs as obvious as they did.

    Ripley

Two episodes in and pretty good so far. The guy who played the slimeball double crossing agent in Bond is well cast as the lead character. The town where it is filmed could not be more beautiful either ( even in black and white )

I never knew they/them’s were a thing in the 1960s but nice virtue signalling to cast Stings child ( thanks google ) in a lead role.

I know the whole story having seen the film but it’ll still be interesting how they do things.

    Re: Fallout

    • somebody needs to convince me to finish the game.
I recently started Fallout 3 - which I assume the show is based on. But I find it... a chore... to go back to, compared to other options.
Do I bother continuing, or do I just watch the TV show, and tick that piece of nerd-culture as ticked-off-via-shortcut?
