@MajorRage my teenage son recently spent 10 days playing cricket in Barbados. The players, coaches and parents that went were universal in their praise. Happy, friendly locals, buzzing bars and restaurants and great scenery.

Can you…um…..have a look at your post and try to make it vaguely legible ? This is just utter bullshit to me ( one could say I out “grumpied” you )

    Thanks mate.

@MN5 we have an online "learning world" at work where we can do courses. Occasionally we're assigned mandatory courses for completion (like one on insider trading which was delightful and wholly irrelevant). This is the latest bullshit one.

And it is being presented by a person that has future proofed their income stream for many years to come by taking on two superfluous roles that will never be canned.

    Ok so……

“Grumpy old man can’t deal with change in the workplace” is probably more accurate…..

    ( just quietly, I hear you 100% )

….but it makes me look more progressive and dynamic if I call you out.

One of my most recent "mandatory learnings" for my corporate overlord - attempted to take the form of a video-game. Fucking horrific. Fucking embarrassing (insert Letterkenny Coach meme).
    Utter fluffybunnies of things.
I got emailed two notifications last week - of two mandatory re-takes of irrelevant bullshit I need to do... and while one of my Grumpy-Old-Men hatings is fluffybunnies who always claim "I'm too busy to do this shit" - I have been fucking swamped recently, and am abso-fucking-lutely too busy to do this shit.
I thought I'd escaped the shit like "I need to do the Insider Trader training, despite just being the computer-nerd keeping your trading platform going" when leaving the banks... but fuck, going to work for a corporate where we have every industry under the sun involved... it might even be worse.

"How was your " insert random thing you did here "? Let us know!"

Seriously fuck off. I parked my car, you delivered a parcel, I bought something off you. Not going to fill out a survey for every god damn thing I do.

Just awaiting for a message from my toilet to ask how it performed its task of flushing my shit away. (Admirably, as always).

Dunno why you're complaining. When I was working I had multiple clients in Financial services and had do AML and Infosec courses every bloody engagement I had with them.

Currently renovating a small bathroom in the East Annexe of Meldrew Towers and dealing with the Ceiling From Hell.

The ceiling hadn't ever been plastered or sealed so the paint is making the paper come away from the plasterboard requiring constant bloody gluing, sealing, filling and sanding - 3 fucking days so far. Oh, And the same fuckwits didn't bother to seal the walls before painting them either, so any paint I stick on lifts everything off the walls.

And some fluffybunnies are complaining about Diversity courses...Jeez.

    Can concur.

A delivery from NZ Post turned up after several days delay and I got the same gratuitous email.

What are you actually supposed to say ?

“I’m glad the fucken parcel finally turned up?”

I am a bit pissed off. I come from a big family where you were always expected to wait your turn. What has happened last year youngest brother passed away (not unexpextedly) and then last week my youngest sister the baby of the family (even at 59) got home from work , got into shower had a brain aneurysm and died. We has funeral etc on Monday, and talking to oldest sisters (84 & 85) they were in a world of disbelief that she went before them. As one confided to my wife, geez I just filling in space these days, so can't see why it wasn't me. Just shows how younger ones just have no repect for tradition!!
Must admit it knocked the shit out of me too, she is 10 years my junior, and I was feeling stunned, just a couple of weeks ago she was laughing with my daughter that she was turning 60 this year, my daughter turning 50, my oldest grandson turns 30 and I turn 70, so she was starting to organise a zero family party!! Should of known she would find a way out of it!!
