I reckon he's been the best, or at least one of the best pick-ups for the Blues in the last few years. Good glue player to have around RI especially.

I remember seeing him play as a youngster and thought he would be an AB for sure. That may not be the case, but he's got class and I think would make for a great combination with RI.

@gt12 He just hasn't been given a regular opportunity yet, but if Heem moves on, I feel like we'll see a lot more of him. A very good versatile player.

As good as Heem has been for us, I think it is time to secure the likes Leo Gordan and Xavi Taele going forward rather than to give Heem another year. He will be 36 when next season starts.

As good as Heem has been - it was refreshing to see a genuine 12 in the backline. Bit of a lost art for the Blues since Faiane left.

Another thing Evans might be keen on at Blues is being coached by O'Halloran - not a bad 12 in his day.

Evans was good in the weekend (better than previous goes at fullback), but I did have to laugh that half the great plays he got credit for from the retards doing commentary was Plummer.

I'm not a fan of players coming back into squads from overseas like that.

@Tim I've said B4 he was under contract from round 10, obviously if Japanese contact commitment was over, he signed blues for 4 years, it was always on Cards

Based on what has been posted previously he won't be allowed to play in the knock out games. He might be allowed to play in the last round robin games

@Kirwan There was also one where Plummer got credit for the grubber Evans put Forbes through to score his try haha.

I wouldn't really be comfortable with Barrett coming back.

He can train and play club rugby.

I think he can only get dispensation for the round robin:

Speaking to Newstalk ZB’s Rugby Direct Podcast, New Zealand Rugby’s head of professional rugby Chris Lendrum explained the process for players to be able to turn out in Super Rugby after stints abroad.

“You’re unlikely to see any of them in Super Rugby,” Lendrum said. “The competition rules are that anyone playing offshore as of April 1 in a Super competition year can’t play in the finals.

“The very most you would see is someone coming back in as an emergency replacement for a few games to fill a gap.

“Even then, they need dispensation from the competition. Obviously, it’s not impossible, but it’s not that likely.”

Assuming it is just for two rounds he would be really useful

Perhaps Perofeta needs another week to get right? Put BB on the bench instead of having Evans cover 10.

The Blues would have the opportunity to give Plummer a week off before the finals too. He's had a large workload and hasn't subbed off much

Seems like the same situation as Afoa in 2023

Afoa was an injury replacement for the Crusaders He got dispensation to play a couple of round robin games. He wasn't playing early enough to be available for the finals
