Stranger Things is one of the best shows I've seen this year. Really great, ET meets X-Files meets a Stephen King book. Basically they waited so fucking long to make a good TV series of IT & now these guys beat them to it & did it perfectly

Add to that, Bojack Horseman. I just watched 3 seasons straight, one of the deepest most thought provoking & excellent things on telly. It looks like a shit cartoon, but its actually superb. And the voice acting is fricking Will Arnet, Aaron Paul, Alison Brie, Lisa Kudrow, Kristin Schall etc... god its good. No one belives me when I say that & then go "its about a man-horse who was a big TV star & is now an alcholic dating an owl voiced by Phoebe from Friends, his best friend is a human played by Aaron Paul, who actually is good, and his agent is a pink cat who he used to date & he hangs out with a former child star who has a massive drug problem & is voiced by Kristin Schall whose catchphrase is "suck a dick shit heads".... "

Bojack horseman is excellent, I was the same. It sounds like a shit idea for a cartoon, but has great depth of character.

I loved that show, Julia Louise Dreyfuss character was so appalling . The scene where here mum was on live support and they discussed whether or not to pull the plug on her based on how it would affect her polling was a classic, some of the shit she said was awesome too ie " your heads so far up her ass on her husbands birthday you'll be giving him a blow job".

Most of the way through the second series of Marco Polo on Netflix at the moment. Not enjoying it as much as the first. Still some quality boobies and kung fu and shit, but less battles.

Finished 11.22.63, was pretty good, ending wasnt as I thought it would with a 2nd season in planning.

    SPOILERS BELOW

    :::

That fella that follows him telling him he shouldnt be here, I assume is in fact wrong about Sadie.

I also assume fate or whatever says that that fellas daughter must die when she did, so no matter what he does, she dies. However in Jakes case, he chose to do nothing, and Sadie lived, therefore it is not written that she dies, he just needs to find a way.

I expected if he searched for her and she was dead then yep, lost cause.

The revised future being like that, was always on the cards.

Be interesting if a 2nd season does come, what they will do with it

Just had a rare TV moment as a family watching that Zoomba's kitchen or whatever it's called. Basically Master Chef but they make desserts. Had to bite my tongue a million times to avoid the wife's wrath. I'm wondering if the Zoomba dude and that British chick are even there with the contestants. For some bizarre reason they have that South American chick who speaks like Salma Hayek with a speech impediment going around chatting to the contestants. It's like the contestants aren't allowed within 5 metres of the hosts or something.

Anyway some lovely desserts, but the usual absurd first world problems associated with being told that a dish couldn't be served at a royal banquet. Fark me what a load of wank.

Just started watching 'Stranger things' on a recommendation from my brother. Netflix series set in the 80's in a small town in the states. Kid goes missing and the show seems mostly about his group of friends. Has a bit of a horror/sci-fi element to it, got a real Stephen Spielberg ET feel to it. Very good so far.

I see ads for this pop up on FB, might have to give that a go.

Only show that other half and I have going at the moment is "Suits" and to be honest that's getting a bit "same old....same old" we're up to season 4 and every single episode you know that Mike and Harvey will come out on top and beat the latest hot shot that's come to take them down. I'll keep watching but something new to fill the space now that other regular shows are finishd would be good.

Three episodes in and really enjoying Stranger Things so far, can highly recommend it. They have the 80s setting down to a tee, very well done right down to the bright graphics, 80s synth theme song and the poster looks like it was done then too

It has an ET/Goonies feel to it in some ways but also much more mystery and dread ( the glimpse we've seen of the bad guys is pretty creepy ) Hoping to knock another 4-5 episodes off tonight. It's very obvious the makers liberated a whole lot of ideas from Spielberg/Lucas ( and Stephen King ) but I'm good with that, it works.

Winona Ryder has looked better though.
