Had a look at the schedule, and Australia play their last game after England's last. So assuming no more upsets in that pool, Australia and Scotland will both know exactly what the NRR permutations are. Do the Aussies go for a deliberate go slow to try to eliminate the English?

It's the only outcome that justice demands.

Aussies 2/1 chasing 180 to keep England in the tournament.

I see the USA Ireland game got rained out, which I believe eliminates Pakistan and Ireland, and puts them through.

So we've now lost 5 test playing nations: us, Ireland, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe (failed to qualify). Plus Nepal only lost by a run against South Africa. Feels like international T20 depth is increasing.

Stating the obvious, but Trent Boult has said this tournament was his last as a BC

While scrolling through some of the Uganda team on cricinfo I noticed none of them even have first class records listed. Do they not play the longer forms of the game there ?

If there’s any cricket experts from Uganda lurking on the fern their input would be appreciated

From memory the 'first class' designation is a bit like 'test cricket' and tournaments have to be granted that status by the ICC. So they probably have a 3/4 day tournament that doesn't have first class status.

PNG probably the same then ?

I hope we bat first and get 300

Scotland take it into the last over but Aussies win with a couple of balls to spare. Big sigh of relief from England.

And now Nepal have Bangladesh on the ropes, 35/4 after 6 overs. It's a dead rubber though, but still nice to see another non-Test team looking competitive.

Yes great to see some underdogs have their glory but for me that just underlines what a deeply flawed and utterly shite game T20 is

Perhaps, but I think it is probably more to do with diabolical pitches acting as a leveler in a format where a bit of luck can get you a win against a superior opposition. Great for the fans of those sides though and will help to increase the exposure of the game in those countries, but at the end of the day none of those teams would come close to victories in the longer forms.

At some point you just get tired of winning cricket trophies, and take your eye off the ball. It happens.

The fuck are you on about now? Have you found another ref you've grown tired of criticising so will pretend others do it more and call it "hatred"?

I feel slightly better about our loss to them, now.

When I saw that result flash up, I thought itwould have been the Afghan spinners that did the damage, but seems it's the medium-fast guys!

Puts some doubt into my expectation that Oz and India were cruising inevitably to another final.

India now has a chance to send them home early. I'd suggest they take it!
