@KiwiMurph City's argument is pretty straight forwards. They claim they haven't done anything wrong and rules have been moved to suggest they did.

Without knowing the real truth, I'd say that if they have a clear case / argument, then they could well win.

I'm probably alone on this, but given that the EPL is one of the countries largest cash cows and global draws, I'd personally be about protecting it rather than trying to smash it.

Yeah, it ain't great that City have dominated, but it's not like it's for 50 years. Liverpool, Man U have had similar eras in that timeframe.

    @MajorRage

This action is seperate from the 115 charges. They want to change the anti competitive rules in place around 3rd part sponsorship.

These rules were brought in when the Saudi PIF purchased NUFC.

City want the rules changed so they can pay themselves more with bigger sponsorship deals that they recieve from themselves and not have to worry about ‘fair market value’.

It is unlikely to succeed but a 2 week hearing has been scheduled which shows that they do have some kind of case around anti competitive law.

They also want to change the majority rule voting system in the EPL, which they call the tyranny of majority, which is quite funny coming from an autocratic state

It’s not enough that they want to pay themselves whatever they want from sponsorship but they also have fake companies being their global sponsors.

It'll get worse next year. As per usual the formal change is designed for the increased wealth and protection of the uber elite.

Still not as bad as Super Rugby though

The format change was to get more broadcast revenue wasn’t it?

It’s a pretty crap format with another 4-5 games for each club.

It is why The ESL was proposed a couple of years ago

Liverpool and Man U didn't try and change the rules so that the Forests and Villa's couldn't crash their party though. Which is precisely what City are trying to do.

They don't want Newcastle being able to do what they themselves did. They'd been in Tier 3 less than a decade before the Abu Dhabi money rolled in. They then bought a new team and ultimately the world's best Manager. Following the route taken by Chelsea a few years earlier.

Now they want to ensure no one else can do the same.

As a Fulham supporter I don't have skin in the game. Mid table mediocrity is just fine by me. For Fulham fans the joy comes from the occasional upset against the big boys and ironically being inept enough to drop points to Sheffield. The sheer stupidity of it all is what courses through our veins.

However, if I was a supporter of a bigger club with big aspirations like Newcastle (not West Ham they're just a middling club with delusions of grandeur) then I'd be livid.

If anyone fancies a shot at my all encompassing Euros predicting comp, drop me a message with an email address and I'll send it through. Huge football brain such as @dogmeat @Hurrycanes & @dK have already entered so you're unlikely to finish last.

Oi I won once and almost defended my title - or was that the WC.

I do remember getting my West African nations confused and tipping Togo to make the 1/4's.

Great comp guys and not too demanding timewise.

Don't bring me evidence to counteract my preconceived ideas! You did have a run of 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th from WC 2010 to EURO 2016 before joining me in the making up number area.

                  From The Athletics Transfer DealSheet

Nottingham Forest are working on a deal with Red Star Belgrade to sign New Zealand international midfielder Marko Stamenic. Stamenic, who has 14 senior caps, would cost around £4.6million after impressing Forest while helping Red Star, or Crvena Zvezda, win the Serbian SuperLiga last season. If everything goes according to plan, he is expected to initially join Greece’s Olympiacos on a season-long loan, similar to other arrangements in the Evangelos Marinakis operation, with the Greek billionaire owning both clubs (Daniel Taylor)

It looked like he was going to Coventry the other day.

To be fair, Parker does have a good record for promotions - just sack him as soon as promotion is sealed.

The Fulham side he had in the Prem should never have been relegated.

Parker is Southgate on steroids only without the expansive attacking philosophy...

The article also says Fulham sacked Parker which is BS. He wanted us to sack him but we wouldn't. He still tried to screw us for compensation. Guys might look good in a cardi (debatable) and was a very good player but he's a piston wristed gibbon.

Why would Burnley persevere with Kompany and then go for a Manager who is the complete antithesis. Makes no sense.
