From memory he was briefly a TSF poster.
Yeah he was a good sport in the end. Signed up to have a crack at a couple of posters then relaxed
Think it was around 2012? So no posts will exist
-
@Duluth Sorry - I missed these other posts - probably in the RIP thread.
Has there ever been another All Black posted here that you know of?
@Chris-B
No worries.. just getting it all in one place
There’s been all sorts of people posting here over the years - players, coaches, family members and of course media. I only know from word of mouth. Don’t want to have a speculation thread about that because obviously they wanted to remain anonymous

Sad news to see Shayne is gone. 58 is much too young.
As far as I know (or at least can recall), he's the only All Black who has turned up on The Fern to post - or at least an AB who identified himself.
Worth remembering - as sundry players and coaches get slagged for their perceived shortcomings - that this wasn't because he thought we were a great bunch of guys to talk rugby with. He didn't have kind words to say about us.
R.I.P Shayne.

So like most of the posters here then!
And an All Black. And a pretty tough one given his injuries. -

Maybe wrong or on another site, but I recall an international rugby referee posting here giving an analysis of the reffing in games.

Rip ,
On the subject of ex players family members etc ,
It can get messy, I hang out sometimes on my afl club Richmond forum ,
And there used to be a dad of a player who used to get on there pissed almost every night , abusing anyone that was critical of his son, but the worst, critical of other players etc.
A dad of an ex storm player now at the roosters was very similar on social media
I think family members are best advised to stay clear of the internet if they are a bit sensitive to criticism , it can get brutal

I couldn't spot his log-in anymore either (if I recalled it correctly).

Certainly liven things up. A little more work for the mods. :face_with_tears_of_joy:

Some idiot reckons he saw me playing golf in an All Blacks tracksuit.
I think this was his biggest issue here,
though there were doubtless some other negative posts in the conversation.As Duluth says, once he had his initial crack he stayed around for a little while and shared a few things.

No, Hooroo repeated the Grizz and his mother rumour and got both barrells from him. It was pretty classy post actually from memory. (Sorry Hooroo!)
58 is way too young.

@Kirwan That's probably right.
The golf story is the part that sticks in my memory, because it was pretty funny - which I'm pretty sure was Hooroo as well?

Unless @BartMan or the people that wrote them still have them
If they do turn up, we should repost some old classics on the website

Nope, that was me and it was a second hand story. The guy who told me ( on numerous occasions ) swears that it was true. Whether SP saw it on here or elsewhere ( the bloke put it online all over the place, on FB, other sites etc ) is unclear…..only those two know if it was true or not.
Pretty innocuous I would have thought, not the nastiest rumour to help spread but in retrospect not my finest hour. NZ is a small place and even if the players themselves don’t see it they all have families, friends etc.
I actually thought about messaging him direct to say sorry but the account was deactivated from memory.
It did make me think that a lot of shit gets said on here rightly or wrongly and some comments about players/coaches past or present are pretty shitty but I guess it’s up to each individual to judge whether or not they should post what they do.
Anyway, RIP Shayne. You achieved way more in rugby than any of us did ( except for maybe @Bones depending on how things pan out )
