Spain playing Tonga at the moment - right on halftime and Tonga are down 05 - 16 and not looking like they will be able to mount any sort of comeback. In fact they would probably struggle to finish out of the bottom three if they were in the NPC if this is the best they have got.

    Live stream available here

The live stream seems to have cut out ten minutes or so into the second half right at the point where Sefo Sakalia had a try disallowed with the score standing at Tonga 08 - 18 Spain
Thankfully Tonga a bit better in the second half that I saw, hopefully the link will be re-established so the entire match can be viewed.

@Higgins ah thats where I jumped in....why was it disallowed? They were under advantage, he scored, then ref called it back for a pen?

@taniwharugby Not exactly sure but from memory it looked like he might have detached from a ruck and picked up the ball not having retreated into an onside position but will have to watch it again later to see for sure. Anyway it is now 13 - 23 with about ten minutes to go.

I did not know that Spain were that good. They held their own against Samoa and now are beating Tonga.

It might be that both Tonga and Samoa are both currently weak rather than Spain being good.

Portugal had a great WC don't forget and Spain would have been there in their stead if they hadn't falsified one player's passport details

Splitting hairs but it wasn't the union that falsified the details, it was the player (and his representatives).

Yes, Spain are the real sleeping giants of the rugby world. They lost a lot of experienced guys after the World Cup debacle too so they're still really in a rebuilding phase.

If Spain were in Georgia's position (e.g. bagging a few wins against tier-one opposition) then you would have to think that the Six Nations would be seriously considering them for expansion given their economy, location, popularity etc. An away day in Madrid or Barcelona? Heck yeah.

Why are people so invested in meddling with the 6N?

    Genuine question

If 6N see a good commercial opportunity then they'll jump on it. It's what they did when France and Italy came calling.

Personally I have no issues with the 6N staying as it is, as long as the 6N teams are willing to play European sides from outside the 6N too.

Kick Italy out of the 6N, rope in Romania and they can have the Sprig Nations
