i just cant help thinking they could have organised things a little better and launched the NPC season the weekend just gone....when there isn't an AB's game on

The organisation of this season seems weird. We've just had a huge gap with no rugby, all I've had to watch was the Warriors returning to type, and now we have the RC and NPC starting at the same time.

Does anyone know whether the NPC is being broadcast in Australia or the UK?
Doesn't appear to be on Stan or Sky and no mention of it on NZR+ as far as I can see.

I’m seeing a fair bit of it on sky sports and Facebook but that’s about it. Olympics and The All Blacks are taking the majority of the limelight on the sports news and websites etc I guess. Disappointing but with the timing I guess half expected.

I doubt many NPC sides would spend much money (from the little they have) on promotion other than digital. All their promotion will mostly be online and I've seen a fair amount in amongst the Olympics and ABs. I guess it's all about what channels you follow etc.

ive talked about this before but im surprised they dont endorse more volunteers, Dunedin for example would surely have some aspiring podcasters/social media persons, a bit of quid pro quo, we give you some access and you get as much experience as you like

@Duluth rightfully or wrongfully I guess media platforms probably don't see the NPC as a priority atm.

i actually thought last year was a small improvement (for Otago at least) and we saw things like that Ranfurly shield flow diagram etc...but this year has been crickets

It's not just the Olympics either. Coverage was shit in 2023 too.. which was a little shitter than coverage 2022
It's just another indicator of how much of a death spiral this competition is on
@Duluth yeah unfortunately this comp might not exist in 5-10 years the way it's going. It's just a money pit and something needs to change but I ain't getting into that right now.

A few years ago they did a gimmicky launch. Doesn't occur anymore. Have read a substantial preview in the Rugby News. Also seen them in ODT and Stuff. Paul Cully has stated on X that the Saturday teams will all be available at 2 PM.
