Interesting to note given all the medals per capita fapping that we had the 14th biggest team
So on that yardstick we finished slightly ahead of expectations.

Wow. That is quite amazing, actually.
Some of that must be due to the easy Oceania path for the 2 football teams. Plus a general focus on team sports (hockey, rugby7, even rowing crews).
But in other recent games we've even had both basketball teams qualified. I wonder if we've had even bigger teams, in 2016?

Neither did Sydney during the mid-90s in the lead-up to the games. Like Brisbane the focus was on cost, bureaucratic bungles, impact on residents etc etc etc
And then the flame was lit and everything was forgotten.
I expect the same will happen with Brisbane.
