I watched an episode of "The Young Ones" last night, and it hasn't aged well. However, i did still have some laugh-out-loud moments (Adrian Edmonson and Rik Mayall were that show, being complete idiots) but then i can be very juvenile.

I just have to say, Breaking Bad is to TV what Dan Carter is to rugby for me at the moment. Awesome, awesome stuff.

I don't know if any of the other ferners have seen it but I've recently acquired a couple of series of the UK based BBC comedy "The inbetweeners". This show would have to be the funniest comedy I've seen in a while. It's basically about a 16 year old private school kid who suddenly has to go to public school and he starts hanging out with a group of guys who don't quite fit in. More awkward moments and laughs than any series I've watched for a while.

Definitely worthwhile if you come across it. I think it can also be watched on youtube

after enjoying most of the final series of Lost so far, last nights was rubbish!!

wow, so we now know where the black smoke came from, we didnt really need to know where it came from, it is black smoke that kills people FFS!

seemed just a way to pad up the final series to me...

the pool of light thing was pathetic. it looked like a paper mache playboy grotto. as a stand alone bit of tv, had it had nothing to do with rest of Lost, it was ok. but as a tie in it was shit!
finished S3 of Deadwood, not as good as the 1st 2 and finished like there was to be another series, but it got canned...disappointing end really.
I think Ian McShane actually showed up for the first day of shooting for season four before he actually found out it had been canned . Apparently he was pissed when he got the news .

I reckon this entire series could be a stand alone, but the episode last night was pathetic, I am sure it has some bearing (hope) but it felt like buying time to me.

Didn't it give the big reveal about what they are guarding? I thought that was the whole point of the episode.

But referred to the source of all creation, so shown in a naff way but still an important plot point.

yes and no, not sure how importnat it will turn out to be in terms of the plot...think it was more to try and show how the black smoke was created, and why...

I figured it was to show the parameters of the not-Locke not being able to hurt people directly, where he and Jacob came from (throwing up the question of where CJ came from), how he was able to turn into black smoke, and why, and what the point of the candidates was.

It was always wishy-washy why the island needed a protector. I thought it was to keep not-Locke on the island, but that's been shown to be a side effect, not the main reason for the protectors.

And the creation light was important enough for CJ to kill everyone that had seen it too.

picked up Sons of Anarchy (from recommendations on here) upto E4, and is pretty good so far.

Katey Segal and Ron Perlman are both pretty good in it.
