There is some dispute about that. Not the score, but that St Paul's is the CNI rep.
They were beaten in the semi-final by St John's, so finished 3rd/4th, not 1st/2nd. Hard to argue that you are the better team after losing a semi-final.

I was told by someone associated with St John's at the round robin game between St John's and St Paul's that the winner of that match would challenge HBHS. Personally, I think that St John's is the better team but they lost that fixture.
-
I was told by the Principal of St John's that it goes off final placement.
Given that it is a bit shit for HBHS to have to play another fixture, it will almost certainly stand. But they certainly need to sort it out.

A big upset in the BOP Chiefs Top 4 game as Rotorua BHS advances to play Pukekohe HS after a 20-20 draw with Tauranga BC. I assume they scored the first try.

Wellington Premiership final
St Pat's Silverstream 31 - 12 Wellington College -
Silverstream bt Wellington in a fairly dominant performance in the Wellington College final yesterday. They won 31-12 and there are certainly a few players with big futures in the game.
Silverstream have two tall and beefy locks in Samuel Thomson and Preston Moananu who would already be bigger than any recent Hurricanes lock apart from Isaia Walker-Leawere. Hopefully Wellington and the Hurricanes have their sights on them.
Thompson Takapua, the Silverstream number 10 and number 7 Drew Berg-McLean were arguably Silverstream's best two players on the park (followed closely by the mountain Samuel Thompson). Takapua looks to have all the skills to be a professional 10 with all the silky skills in the world. I don't think I've seen a 10 this good out of Wellington since Lima Sopoaga. Hopefully he can kick on.
Big Wellington College lock Harry Law who I understand is heading down to Canterbury was the standout in a losing effort by Wellington College.
Highlights of the game below.

@Nepia The list I posted was from the Warriors website (after a google search). I've no idea what other articles have been published as I don't follow RL that closely anymore. I agree it's a promotion piece.
The player I mentioned who signed for the Titans (Caelys-Paul Putoko) did miss some later Super 8 games last year to play RL although I have no idea who he played for on those weekends. He was still selected for the NZ Schools team though (the starting 12).
That list was posted in the Daily Telegraph too, there seems to be two journos pushing it, a guy I can't remember and a lady named Fatima Kdouh. Kind of embarrassing for Richard Becht to be pushing it as a) a Kiwi and b.) someone who would know that Warriors junior teams have always had kids from rugby schools.
TBH, the hyping of league and attacking of rugby by the media is actually making me turn off the sport a bit (the Warriors returning to their old form might also be playing a part too).
@Nepia
I know De La Salle and St Paul’s very well. Many of those 1st 15 rugby players in those teams are league boys who play rugby at college. They’ve grown up playing club rugby league and then play union at College on Saturdays and league is played on Wednesdays. The list doesn’t tell the whole story. It goes both ways, obviously league is poaching more but it also goes the other way.
