    Weird how a couple of club rugbys top tru scorers don’t get a look in yet we keep picking the same old players like Savea, surprised there’s no Sam Clarke either considering he was there abouts last year.

    Yeah we need to move on from Savea. Same with the likes of Garden-Bachop, Paulo, Apisai. There’s better players in Club Rugby, Sam Clarke missing out to JGB is a joke.

    @Canes4life Agree 100% how about rewarding club rugby form for as long as I remember I’ve never once seen the top try scorer for the season even get a look in with the Lions we might as well give Belgium Tuatagaloa a contract also…actually no don’t he scored 13 tries this year too many to get selected.

    As if there wasn't already too many oriental players in the squad, they go and select a couple of Japanese too.

    To be fair, I’d select those Japanese players before Leni Apisai.

    But a strange thing to do

    Kirifi gone for the foreseeable future. Ropeti was also injured against Manawatu so expect to see Sione Halalilo and Akira Ieremia step up.

    What a stupid decision on his part. Now he suffers the consequences

    Yeah, he isn't one to shy away from the odd brain explosion.

    Riley Higgins was named Wellington Lions player of the year, and Callum Harkin was named rookie of the year.

    Interesting about Harkin. Who votes / picks the rookie of the year?

    It confused the fuck out of me after he destroyed Cant, and played excellent against Otago he was left out of the squad.

    It's bewildering to me why JGB is always preferred to Harkin.
    I'm sure he would be starting for the Canes in 25, if not already signed to Moana Pasifika

    Nothing against the guy, just a little too hot and cold for me.

    Hopefully Harkin has a ripper tonight so he can’t be dropped for the final (if we make it through).

    @Canes4life two things:

    1. I agree. And hopefully, if they're not already convinced, it ensures the Canes get him putting pen to paper immediately!
    2. If he has a ripper (like he did in his other starts) you can bet your house JGB will still be back.
