Valentina Petrillo comes a distant 2nd and will have to wait to see if her time is good enough to qualify.

Oliver Brown at The Telegraph would have you believe that 'biological male' Petrillo is unbeatable. Didn't even come close in this heat.

wonder how the woman who was excluded from the event feels about it. To only care about men in women's sports if they win misses the point of the argument IMO. This is a man who only stopped competing as a man at 45 before transitioning to compete in women's sport. Its a joke.

I see that Sutton United's women's football team refused to take the field this weekend following the appointment of a trans identified male coach who immediately recruited a 6ft male goalkeeper and fired the existing team goalkeeper. Good for the rest of the Sutton team.

Think we have a different bar as to what constitutes “interesting “

Side note - why are there gendered darts competitions at all? Same with snooker, shooting etc

snooker & darts are gendered for two main reasons:

    1. mens and womens anatomies are different, different proportions of arm length, way the elbow bends, height and reach etc, all of which could provide male advantage
    2. having a women's only category is an attempt to increase the number of players by providing a different environment.

Overall, it doesn't matter why women's sport is segregated, we should respect their desire to have segregated sport. Shooting is an interesting situation, there are no discernible score differences between men and women, similar to eventing, however, neither men nor women want to be included in one competition as apart from anything else, it would halve the number of medals available to win.

Those two stories reflect part of the problem, the transgender movement has not ever tried to win hearts and minds (unlike almost every other social justice movement in history), its intentionally engaged behind the scenes via lobby groups and politics to change laws and rules of sporting organisations. Once the consequences of those changes become apparent, the public realise and object, or at least, those with two eyes do.

In the second story, once again we see the emotional blackmail tactic of essentially telling people to just keep your opinions to yourself or i might kill myself.

Could all be sorted out in one tournament

All female competitors pull out before 'the first dart is thrown'

No sanction, and that tournament becomes a mockery

Male abilities are different, not just strength. Spatial awareness for example.

But even strength can be beneficial in those sports, sometimes a little power is needed.

Read an interesting article a few weeks back on women motorcycle racers where things like balance, co-ordination and decision-making can be greatly affected by PMT & periods.

It's generally self-managed by making people aware of the problem but is def. another point of difference/advantage for trans "females"

The weirdest thing for me is running where males dominate at every distance, but the gap erodes as the distances get extreme (like 300kms) where female ultra-marathoners are right there and often win races

Heard the gap changes with age too - as females get older they can get more competitive than males in ultras.

Sorry to break it to you but that is a myth. Check the records for each, the men’s records are still 15-17% quicker than the women’s - about the same percentage at every distance from 100metres up.

Ross Tucker has talked about this, the reason women sometimes win those races is because of how incredibly niche they are, and the best women can be better than a non best man, but actually the best against best would still show male advantage.

Are you claiming trans women don't have periods? How dare you.

    On that note...

Rowling is right to just call these people what they are now - cheats. A 45 year old bloke deciding to compete in the women's event, meaning women miss out on spots, is just straight up cheating, and ignorance of the advantages they have is not a good enough excuse. The Olympic committee is just the absolute worst for allowing this shit.
