    I would have been in favour of bringing back SA tours if, for example, the Springboks had left the TRC, but I just don't see this as being something international rugby needs.

    @Mr-Fish yeah, i kind of thought saturation (playing the same teams multiple times a year) was a bit of the problem, i did kind of like the idea of the RC dropping back to every other year

    @Daffy-Jaffy Nothing - or very little to do with the apartheid ban and more with familiarity able to cope with altitude and neutral refs.

    It’s a go – full tours for the Greatest Rugby Rivalry between Springboks and All Blacks to resume in 2026

    It’s a go – full tours for the Greatest Rugby Rivalry between Springboks and All Blacks to resume in 2026

    Formal agreements have been reached between South Africa and New Zealand for full tours to resume between the Springboks and All Blacks. It will be marketed as “The Greatest Rugby Rivalry”.

    @BerniesCorner
    WTF?

    the scoreboard was a big success for the Springboks

    Why would they decide to play a 4th test on a neutral venue if Twickenham wasn't a successful trial for both countries unions?

    I was merely referring to the painful day on the scoreboard for an AB supporter.
    I am pleasantly surprised that less than a year later we have a scrum that can compete with yours.
    RG Snyman was terrifying that day as was the ref who happens to be in charge this weekend. Yikes

    Maybe Rassie surprise us with some of that Twickenham starting XV. Moodie, Am, AE, Mapimpi, Libbok, Snyman, Kitshoff are all back in the squad.

    Mate this is best thing I have read all year, it's getting a step closer.
    Makes me rexcited about future of rugby again!!
    I would rather follow this than a WC anyday , (and before anyone gets excited, that's just me) .
    Nothing excites me more than ABs.Boks or any NZ/SA rugby fixtures really!! I know I an old bastard , but SA (and used to be Wales also) are tests I seem to recall loving the longest!!

    @Dan54 it's the ultimate challenge. If done right, it could rival or exceed Lions tours. Just need to make them infrequent enough not to become overly familiar. Alternating home and away tours every 5 years, for example

    @stodders relax. Surely it’s too early to be calling for the boks to win 5 in a row? Or, as some have suggested, maybe my reading comp ain’t up to snuff and you were just saying we’d be 4/5? (That’s 80% @Bones )
