    @reprobate

Mate you are not remembering things correctly. Sititi was great off the bench his first time against Fiji. He was poor his second time off the bench in the first Pumas test where he was penalised 3x in 20 minutes.

True, but my point stands. If Blackadder had put in that performance the Fern would have been awash with undeserved crusaders biased selection posts.

IIRC posters weren't very happy with Wallace either. But since then he's had two excellent games, including one MOTM performance to win the panel over. I want to be impressed by EB, I hope that happens one day because I have no provincial bias. I just want the ABs to play well and win, wherever they are from

You can't build a team around players who are constantly injured. It's detrimental to have players working their way back into form in test rugby.

Injuries are a fact of life in today's rugby. Off the top of my head, this year.
        Blackadder ditto and currently injured.

I think the post was particularly about Blackadder.

        I'll just repeat this:
Blackadder debuted in 2018 and has played 7 seasons of Super. He's played 42 Super games. There are two seasons where he has played more than 5 matches.

On the other hand - Will Jordan made his debut for Super Rugby team the Crusaders in 2019 after missing the 2018 season with injury. He's played 50 Super games in the same period as Ethan, so he's testing you guys' limits as well.

But, he's also scoring test tries at a rate unprecedented in All Black history and we're going to be a bit thin in the back three without him. In the sights

        Player Tries Tests
        Rieko 37 - 76
        Jonah 37 - 63
        Tana 36 - 74
        JK 35 - 63
        Mils 34 - 100
        Will 34 - 36
        Ma'a 31 - 103

Well if Blackadder was a 21 year old rookie who was the best player in a Super Rugby semi final this year I suspect he wouldn't have received criticism......

Blackadder also gave away 3 penalties in the first Argentina game.

            For me he was poor.

His only rugby this year prior to the tests was 60 minutes of NPC warm-up vs Manawatu! 🙂

it probably says more about my knowledge about different positions than anything i find is so strange that we often talk about locks playing 6 or visa versa, or 10-15's....but there are very few that we're happy to play both 12 and 13.....in my obviously uneducated mind they seem much similar than tight and loose forward or 10 and 15

we also seem very stuck in the type of midfielders we want...i struggle to see Reiko and conrad smith as the same type of player....or nonu and JB....are we not versatile enough or has the game change so much that those legends wouldn't work as well

Maybe it's the roles within the duos. Little and Bunce also quite different compared to their current counterparts. Ideally you need one distributor and one hard runner, whether they play in 12 or 13

Shame then that the first choice combo don't really have either of those strengths on a consistent basis.

ALB is getting piled on his card which is ridiculous considering it was a team yellow. He didn't do much before then but he'd been on 20 minutes as part of a shambolic performance by the whole team.

This isn't trying new things, this is retreading old mistakes.

It's been pretty obvious that, whatever the punters might think, the coaches see Beaudy as their number 2 first five. He's pretty much been the injury cover throughout - so they're using this game to give him a run. Cheer up - I have a hunch Richie the Mo will be back ahead of schedule and then we'll have two good test first fives.

TJP's getting a farewell on his home ground - I don't really like this sort of sentimentality, but it's a thing - personnel management, I guess.

They're planning to replace ALB rather than Rieko, so Havili rather than Proctor.

We might, but I'll bet they aren't Mo'unga and Dmac. If Richie is re-signed, the writing will be on the wall and I'll bet that Dmac signs for huge money overseas.

Most of the yellows in the last string of tests have been team yellows.

Our team is ill disciplined and can't seem to read the room at the appropriate time.

Maybe - it's hard to hold onto second-string players when there's millions on offer.

But, firstly, Richie's got to take the jersey back and even assuming he does, maybe DMac really wants to win a RWC.

By jove I've got it! we'll take the guys who score all the points early, and get them off the field until the end, and get the guys who don't score any points late, and put them on the field early.

ALB didn't do much in the prior 3 tests either (all from the bench).......

One of the reasons why I'm looking forward to this weekend

ALB's best test performance this year came at 12.

Havili at least offers someone new in the bench utility back role.

ALB and Proctor looked great on attack - I know it is Fiji but it is all about the combos and I'd like to see them there again.

Fiji made ALB look like Cullen. I really rate him - but that's not the test to draw conclusions from.

I'd have said Ben Smith or Cruden or Larkham-slippery.

I can't give much weight to a sparkling performance against Fiji sorry

EDIT: It would justify another look against better opposition. ALB has been given a crack, Proctor still waits

Most of the yellows in the last string of tests have been team yellows.

Our team is ill disciplined and can't seem to read the room at the appropriate time.
