@Kirwan I watched it last night. Absolutely brilliant!

It's refreshing in an era where there is so much bullshit to have five good, clever men talking so honestly and frankly. Some of the stories, like the Andy Earl one, are brilliant.

And the one about Zinny. I never recalled him signing and backing out of code switching

I will definitely watch. Loved that show back in the day. I remember Zinny signing for Manly.

@Bovidae Matthew Ridge has the inside oil on why Zinny didn't sign and it's a cracker of a story.

Refreshingly irreverent compared to the vanilla personalities currently on TV

Some good stories on this, covers the league switch, comparisons with rugby and league. Good conversation about Tom Robinson.

I've watched every episode since it came out earlier in the year. The one with Matty Johns was hilarous aswell.

It's testament to how good a show that was that Mrs Mariner, who stayed with me in NZ for all of 10 weeks, saw one of those clips on social media and said "of, Sports Cafe is still a thing?" and proceeded to watch a few

Lana has been good on them too.

I though Ellis's comments on individuality were very insightful.

    Oh 100%.

Ellis would be cancelled as fast as you could blink nowadays for some of his sports cafe antics.

Turning up pissed on live TV was hilarious. Wouldn’t fly today.

I do love how Ric plays his part and holds it all together. A very underrated funny man

    Watching the first one.
Matthew Ridge seems a little on the edge.

As they say Ridge is a bit Marmite.

I used to think he was a cock but I actually quite like him now, absolutely unafraid to say exactly what he means which obviously pissed lots of people off over time. He was a really good foil to Marc Ellis when they did that show together
