@Chris-B people are wildly overstating Frizzel's one single OKish performance in black. "Unfortunately for Akira, Frizzel played a blinder vs South Africa and slammed the door shut." Frizzel got just 6% of the vote, yet he played such a blinder that he slammed the door shut on the 6 position?! I've read a couple of match summaries and none even mention Frizzel, ST was the stand-out performer for us that day.
It's pretty clear that Ryan coached him for a year, couldn't get the best out of him as Ryan is not a great coach as he can only seem to work with certain personality types, so dropped him for women beater Frizzel. That ended up costing us dearly, especially in the RWC final where he put in one of the worst performances of an AB 6 of all time.

Brodie McAlister… Not bad for a guy who has 2 All Blacks ahead of him at his position at his own franchise. A third string Hooker at his own franchise making a squad like this… not what I expected.
Nothing against the guy but man… there is either no one better around other franchises or it’s a safe pick. If so, McAlister should be looking at moving franchise to get more minutes. Then again, he’s selected on limited minutes for this side so…..

There was some early mail a while back on Brodie potentially getting higher honours this year, and it wasn’t from the usual Crusader linked sources either.
He’s had very limited opportunities this year but what I’m hearing, and I’m no caully eared, but there are big wraps on his technique. Make of it what you will, but that wasn’t a surprise.
Fihaki was a surprise. Someone (not named Razor) really pushed that one…..

Grace wasn't even good for the Canterbury bench.
I'd go for Parker, Mathis, Segner, Iose or Suafoa.

TBF, not being good and Crusaders bench is not really a selection hurdle.
