    Hopefully this is the moment when biological women and biological men realise that this madness has to stop

    There's no problem setting up a single sex space in the UK providing it's proportionate to achieving a legitimate goal eg Rowling funds Beira's, a single sex rape crisis centre. If it's not proportionate you can end up in court of course ...

    What's the situation in Australia and NZ?

    I get the feeling in Australia you need to preapply for an exemption. Not sure in New Zealand ...

    Sorry, might be dumb, but don't understand a word of that. Care to explain?

    @Tim

    That’s a scandal. Fully funded study on an easily publishable topic that someone won’t publish?

    I suspect that the data is worse than summarized here (from their politicized perspective).

    Great tweet from JKR which for some reason i can't link too:

    "We must not publish a study that says we're harming children because people who say we're harming children will use the study as evidence that we're harming children, which might make it difficult for us to continue harming children"

    Basically, they've sold everyone the idea that the hormone treatments and surgery will save "transgender children's" lives without a shred of evidence. Now that the inevitable evidence to the contrary is coming out, they will try to squash it or discredit it as much as possible. It is an absolute scandal and warrants criminal investigation IMO.

    As others have argued, this will fall apart at the point that law suits start to be taken out and won in the US against the medical facilities and individuals which offered this treatment - that has already begun i believe.

    I'll have a go. Whilst the equality act in the UK allows for single sex (as opposed to single gender) spaces, in Australia they have butchered the legislation such that there is no concept of sex and it has been replaced by gender, hence why Giggle and a lesbian group in Melbourne can't exclude males. Both have been to court to argue their case but have lost.

    This is madness of course, but even in the UK the law is not as clear cut as it should be (hence the desire in some circles to clarify the Equality Act), and even with the ability to segregate, agencies, companies and charities have all gone too far in allowing men into women's spaces as long as they say they're a woman. Look at the other rape crisis centre in Edinburgh as an example - run by a man in a dress, allows men into those spaces as long as they say they're a woman.

    The entire culture needs to change back to default excluding men from women's spaces & sports etc.

    The above also doesn't take into account how many women have missed out on even competing at competitions as they lost their spot to a male that was selected instead.
