Mitch shows a lack of patience, or poor execution

Both Blundell and Santner should be disappointed with themselves. They've exposed the tail now, I won't blame Tim for getting out on this pitch

Bugger, wanted a 400 run lead and the pitch to be even more Bunsen'd

Ajaz shouldn't be hitting out when a set Phillips is at the other end

The bad news is we haven't got as many as we wanted. The good news is the pitch is turning a fucking mile even on day 3.

@No-Quarter said in Black Caps tour of India:

Blundell and Santner should have showed more application. I don't know why they felt the need for aerial shots

Thinking more on Santer's first innings performance, he's always been an accurate spinner that doesn't turn it much. On a pitch that turns as much as this one, he suddenly becomes an accurate spinner that turns it quite a bit, which makes him a much more challenging proposition.

That's extremely poor running from O'Rourke. He needs a bullocking for that. Not good enough.

@canefan 💯Needed to get over the 400 mark just to mentally get in the Indian batsmen’s heads ..concerned we have left the door ajar

Well 400 would have shut the door, 359 has left the door ajar. That said, if India win this, they will deserve it, the pitch is very tricky to bat on.

Amateur run out there from O'Rourke. There is no excuse for run outs in test cricket.

It's extra frustrating when a big part of our success yesterday was our running (especially Latham).

    Honestly, we should have enough.

India will need to score the third highest 4th innings score ever, in India - to win this - and the commentators are saying how much more difficult this is than the pitch in Chennai where they won in 2008.

It will take a couple of extraordinary innings to get them home - and probably close to four sessions, so the pitch should continue to wear.

Crikey - I'm not convinced he didn't catch that! I reckon if he'd sprinted about celebrating it might have been given.

India going after this. NZ will need to have them 4 or 5 down before the end of the day to have a chance of winning the test.
