It's been used in the NRL for years (even before the actual horse racing guy became boss of the comp).

I just thought it was an Aussie way to hype a youngster up.

Doesn't matter though. Eddie is the head coach and he changes assistants as often as undies. Pretty sure he was like that when he was Brumbies coach too so the fans shouldn't be bewildered at all
