Wonder if RA look at Mick Byrne as a coach for Wallabies? Doing good job with Drua, been involved with ABs and Wallabies and apparently an incredible rugby brain.

Yes, yes, all very impressive. But does Hamish McLennan like his ability to pull headlines?

Justin Harrison is a plague - the king of corporate buzzwords who is also head of RUPA and a Stan Commentator on the review panel - that will go well.

Recommendation #1: Give more money to players.

Ex-England and Australia head coach Eddie Jones has ruled himself out of contention for the vacant British and Irish Lions role.

        He certainly has, inadvertantly.

Nice of him to confirm it. Given apparently the RFU wouldn't be seen dead with him anyway

Lions are not part of the RFU, but I doubt Iuean Evans (from shit little Wales) would be keen on him either

Yes I know that, but when 30% of your base* won't touch him, good luck getting the others to agree.

*Let's face it: Scotland are like 15%, Ireland 30%, and Wales 25%

He’s also a plank according to Austin Healy and he likes throwing medals away

                    Aged well...

McLennan argued former Wallabies were supportive of the move, and that Jones had a “hard edge” that Rennie did not. The chair later upset some players and fans by appearing to criticise Rennie’s penchant for playing guitar in team bonding sessions.

“I would rather we have somebody who’s really tough and we win World Cups than we have a Kumbaya session, everyone holds hands and we fail,” McLennan said.

If he’s genuinely not interested why wouldn’t he take the opportunity to say

I’d love to coach the Wallabies one day, but that will never happen with the current board in place

I have no confidence in their ability to do their jobs and support me in doing mine

@MiketheSnow that is, perhaps, somewhat burning a bridge.

Tension between the Sydney Roosters and Rugby Australia is set to explode with the NRL powerhouse club to meet with Wallabies rising star Mark Nawaqanitawase next week in a potential move that will send shockwaves through the 15-man game.
