No, it’s β€œMarky-Mark” - hyphenated names are always tricky

Have any of the others signed on too? Or is this just more proof that AR is an arm of Sydney anyway

@Machpants ive only seen NSW, at very least it shows a lack of cohesion as surely if any of the other were even close to signing they would wait too announce

@Machpants I can't imagine QR going all in given they're in a different financial state and have a world class facility of their own. Unless I'm in an alternate universe, they won't be handing all that over to a bunch of Shore Boys south of the Tweed.

Different predicament for the Brumbies, who have no assets, but a ungodly chip on their shoulder.

TBF they're (literally) just up the road from each other. NSW Rugby and the Waratahs have been separate entities largely, and this move allows NSWRU to focus on "community" Rugby. They have the biggest community footprint so it makes sense.

The Rebels will join because they are in the same boat as far as debt and organisation goes

Queensland Rugby will agree to the high performance but, but not the commercials. Similarly the Ponies.

WA is rumoured to be in favour, but they have Twiggybucks so might want to play funny buggers

hadnt heard of them before, interesting and positive to have japanese investment in aussie rugby maybe

Yes I agree any money from Japan is healthy.

wonder if we'll see RA pushing for more involvement from Japan in SH rugby

They have sponsored sport in NZ too, e.g., the domestic football championship.

Obviously this has benefits in both the financial and playing IP areas, but it also comes down to the fact that our players just don't get enough minutes every year. If you're not a Test player, you run around a dozen times for SR, then what? Go play shitty club?

These measures, the centralisation, and some streamlining elsewhere could really help
