    They've beaten us in 7 consecutive ODIs in Bangladesh. So I'm pretty happy we are still at least putting them away in our own back yard - they are a fairly handy ODI outfit.

    Yeah. I was reminded of Sir Alex Ferguson's 'it's Spurs' quip. Probably what the aussies say about us

    I wonder if Broom's innings was good enough to give him the #5 batting spot in tests..

    Could he be the new broom that will sweep clean for our test side....

    @ACT-Crusader
    I think there needs to be a moratorium on these broom jokes. An amnesty for all up til now, and then suitable bans for any subsequent ones.

    A clean sweep as it were.

    @Damo I can't agree with such a sweeping statement.

    My (uber crap) joke currently has 10 upvotes, so I don't think this topic should be brushed off so lightly.

    Far too many folks bristling at these jokes, only keeping loose tabs but has anyone flown off the handle?

    I'm sure the moderators can keep a handle on things, we don't need to just brush people aside and put them in the closet.

    @Donsteppa but didn't you know that fast bowlers (145kph+) induce premature ejaculation from NZ cricket selectors. It must go in their eyes, because they seem to miss the fact that they often go for 8 runs an over.

    They're so fast and intimidating. Doesn't matter that they leak runs like the Titanic takes in water.

    @MN5 maybe they believed that the Titanic was unsinkable?

    Nothing will ever be funnier ( punnier ) than when Warnie was commentating and he got to say ' Bird to Root' when Jackson bowled to Joe.

    Depends who we are playing next, so long as its 130kph trundlers you can pull off the front foot or spinners on non spinning tracks he should be fine.

    Otherwise I'd rather see them go with the experient of Neesham there, Watling 6, Anderson (if he ever gets fit) at 7 & Santner at 8. Neesham played one solid innings v India & looked ok v the Aussie quicks.

    Tho' in the real world a fit Neesham & Anderson together feels too unlikley

    Neesh has a lot of class with the bat, and is not troubled by extra pace. I'd be happy to see him give the bowling away and focus on being our 5 in all forms of the game.

    Henry bowling short rubbish, getting smacked and gets lucky and picks up a leg side caught behind.
    Couple of quick wickets was just what we needed.

    Sitting in the pub for beers/cokes with my little men and it wasn't even on the big screens!co had to go and ask them to put it on. I think its fair to say this tour hasn't captured the nations imagination......

    Yeah, Aus and SA will be a bigger deal I'm sure. Looking forward to taking the boy to Eden Park for the first ODI vs Aus.

    Henry's bowling has fallen off a cliff. He's getting spanked on a day everyone else has been very economical.
