@Virgil said in NZ v SA Test Series: @Mokey said in NZ v SA Test Series: Another catch for Latham. Philander gone. SA 7 down, but De kock making batting look easy. Need to get him out asap. Its like having to deal with Adam Gilchrist all over again.. Gilchrist was never that big a Kock either

Is everyone too scared to talk about the cricket for fear of applying the kiss of death? SA bowled out for 314.
BCs 67/0 in reply.Yes you read that right, 67 runs without loss.
Great to see Latham tough it out after his lean run lately. He was actually given out to a shocker early on, which was overturned on review.Hopefully the rain stays away.

@mimic said in NZ v SA Test Series: Raval is bloody consistent. Watch him get out for 30 odd Yeah the Jeet in the team that isn't an overrated shit heap ( Hearing Jerry Coney on the Radio trying to say they've 'given the ball to Patel to try and get some turn' with a straight face was hilarious ) has been remarkable in his consistency. No peaks or troughs yet.

I'm probably about to jinx Tommy by saying this but man it was good to see a black cap opener in a form slump figuring out where he had an issue and grift through an innings to get his touch back. Watching him leave anything outside off was such a joy and makes me feel like we've got someone who has the ability to be an all time great black cap opener.

Nah, Tom's shithouse, I reckon he won't even make it to tea

Latham survives first over and goes on to bring up his 50 before getting out, and @Cyclops narrowly avoids a ban. These two have set a platform now. Would be great if Jeet can go on with it - as mentioned above he's been consistent with his starts but hasn't kicked on - but TBH I'm pretty happy with that, as by NZ standards that's quite a lot more then we've had from our openers in quite some time.

@No-Quarter I think pretty much the same. It would be nice if he turned some of these starts into 100's, but as long as he keeps averaging 45, I couldn't care less if he never got a test 100. It's early days, but 45 is an outstanding average for a NZ opener (I'm much more accustomed to 30 odd).

they were saying on the radio, Jeet has batted for over 2 hours in 7 of his (11?) innings.
