seeing the emotion on Rory, it is little surprise he missed that putt on 18, dude probably had heart rate of 130+

Class by Rose and Bryson after too.

What a round. Brilliant and horrible at the same time. Couldn't watch towards the end. Deserved champion, will love watching him at Augusta for the next 30-40 years.

He was definitely on the ragged edge for the last few holes. I'm glad he won because it might have destroyed him mentally to lose again. Wouldn't be surprised if he goes on a tear now

astounded when they said it was his 17th Masters start at the age of 35!

was off Rory when he got stitched up by the PGA to be the mouthpiece against Liv, but i wanted him to win this weekend. By christ he made it hard on himself today, he was right on the edge of an all time collapse the whole round, but kept finding unreal golf shots to get himself back up.

Rose did everything he could today, great final round.

His reaction reminded me of how we all felt winning the 2011 RWC. More relief than joy. Then elation came after

It was simultaneously an almighty choke and an amazing triumph. He was dead three times in that round but somehow kept coming back.

I think it helped that only Rose made any sort of run and Bryson fell away early. If Bryson had been serenely knocking in birdies, Rory may well have combusted

Not a round he's gonna want to watch again in a hurry. I think he would be physically ill

I don't actually know about that. Sometimes I think Rory is better chasing it than trying to hold a three shot lead. Look at what he did on 13- if he's one back there's no way he's laying up there.

What a round by Rose by the way. A Sunday 66 to almost steal it well into his 40s. He's had an outstanding career, still punching in majors while his contemporaries (Stenson, Westwood, Kaymer etc) languish down the bottom of LIV leaderboards.

Pleased for Rory McIlroy. The best golfer of his generation and now he has a full set of major wins to show for it. He's a fine ambassador for Northern Ireland and the game of Golf so it will be good to see him rock up at Augusta for the next 25-40 years.

My prediction is that Rory McIlroy will finally get to have that Green Jacket around his shoulders.

                          Great win.

Be interesting to see how the rest of the majors go. Bryson aside, LIV seems to drop the cutting edge from the top players. Johnson is a shadow of himself, Koepka looks barely interested and even Cam Smith and Rahm looked elsewhere.

Just one tournament of course, but signs are weak.

Not only that MR but they aren't producing any new talent. Joaquin Niemann is the bloke they are always boosting, but he gets to the majors and doesn't fire a shot. I want them to throw up new names, it would make it a lot more fun, but they don't and it's not hard to know why - the bank balance is healthy, you aren't losing your card, it's a closed shop with no consequences for bad play!

Well done to Rory. I didn't think he could win at the start of last week as I tipped Aberg or Schaufelle but by Saturday morning I was convinced it was his time to win the green jacket.

Agree @canefan very similar to the feeling of the 2011 RWC final.

well that was a great way to spend a Sunday evening, Rory was equal parts master and muppet but got it done in the end with a flawless first play off hole. The reaction as the putt dropped and then the walk to the club house will live long in my memory, the sheer disbelief and joy on his face after he saw his family was incredible to see.

The wife was away so I did a 13 hour stint in front of the tv, firstly watching the biggest one day race in cycling (Paris Roubaix), with a box of Leffe, then the Masters. Great times!
