@RLx31 It def works, if it works. My other half did it for stopping smoking and said it made a difference. But it does work, but it's a bit placebo like, you have to be open to it.

    @RLx31 @Machpants

I think you have to be open to it, I have a business acquaintance who is a Hypno therapist and the feedback form others I know that have been to see him lead me to believe there is something in it.

When TR Jnr was having confidence issues a few years back he had a couple of sessions, it helped him.

as part of the process, the Hypnotherapist told TR Jnr he was leaving the room, but didnt, and when he picked something up in the room, TR Jnr saw it 'floating' about the room.

Also saw an 'open' session where he dealt with a persons phobia whereby the mere mention of the insect woudl trigger anxiety and physical meltdowns, a year later, this person says they have had one near them, can now look at pictures without crying.

I havent tried it, but then I am still skeptical (although I know it worked on TR Jnr)

The other aspects of it (and Emotional Freedom Techniques - EFT) are interesting given that they can not only do these via Skype, but can also apparently work on allergies...which I thought were a physical issue rather than mental...

Not sure I'd be keen if I had a nut allergy.

I know someone who was cured of bed wetting as a child by hypno-therapy.

5 decades later and she has to go for a piss after every drink, around 3 times night and if she's out every 90 minutes or so.

If you don’t vaccinate your kids, you’re an arsehole.

My kids school just sent out a Measles warning as West Auckland is having an outbreak.

    Dicks.

Saying “ I’ve done the research “ when someone explains why they defer to 18th century science should legitimately be an excusable reason to punch them in the face.
Not a slap, a decent punch , one that ruins a nose , shakes a few teeth loose and hurts your hand too .
Imagine them calling the cops on you
“ and then right after I said I’d done the research he punched me right in the face”
Cop shrugs his shoulders and punches the fuckwit in the face and says to his partner “ I left his other eye for you when you’ve got a minute “.

    The mind of the anti-vaxxer.

The history does show the lunacy didn't start with Wakefield. It seems to me Wakefield coincided with the ability to spread misinformation on the net.

    I do like this bit:

The idea of developing "natural immunity" has huge appeal. Many locals believe that not vaccinating has made the whole community healthier. (This is incorrect: figures from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare show that life expectancy, child mortality and rates of all cancers are worse in this region than the national averages.)

@canefan and its the kids (and other people too) that suffer for their parents numpty-ness. Which is the really shit part of it all. If it only impacted the person making the dumb decision etc, then fill ya boots and see ya later. That would work for drunk driving too!

@jegga not sure that is entirely fair...this is an industry where part of thier pay is driven by them delivering a baby or less pay if the Dr has to do it.

Most people I know have nothing but utmost admiration and respect for thiers, with the care and mum and baby at the forefront of everything, however I think like with anything, there will be some nutters, and this one sounds like a dumbarse.

I heard they were saying she may need re-training and to go over the processes...I suspect lack of knowledge about how to birth is least of her problems...makes you wonder how many she has gotten away with giving placebos.
