have they done this because we might be able to win it today

maybe but also the best course for that breeze as it will funnel out of the harbour. Aso the premier course for spectators to be able to watch from the shore.
Means I can prob watch it from my office at work too but the kids sport pickup from devonport at 630 could be a pain in the ass with traffic!

More because it is orientated to the SW. Only other course would be "E" and why would they do that when we can have crowds in level 1? Only reason for "E" would be if there thought that they might get more breeze and it was marginal.
-
yeah, it was tongue in cheek, obviously the best course first, the last thing they would want is for races to have to be called off, just luck they best course is a great one for the home crowd to watch from

It is convenient. Let's hope they get enough puff to make it work.

And that we win, obviously

Some interesting comments about LR deliberately going outside the course boundary in their attempt to get back on the foils. While you take a distance penalty it isn't a big deal when you are so far behind, and start foiling again. I wonder what the race committee would have done if TNZ had problems again on the final leg and LR had passed them?
honestly, it's the rules fault, not LR. I can see why they did what htey did - Ineos did the same thing.
A better answer is to rewrite the rules so if you spend too long outside the course you get black flagged
Murray said officials had been going over repeated penalties awarded against Luna Rossa on Monday for sailing well outside the course in a bid to find wind to get it foiling, after becoming almost becalmed. “The penalties probably were on the generous side of not disqualifying (the Italians) for going out that distance,” he said. The umpires would be letting the teams know for the next races, that “boundaries are boundaries”, he said. -
why is it postponed?

why is it postponed?
@kiwiwomble I think they're altering the course to make the most of the wind
-
why is it postponed?
@kiwiwomble wrong wind direction, they are just tweaking the course alignment
-
Yeah at moment its too up (or down) the course and think they need to wait for it to finish swinging around. It was blowing NE earlier today and supposed to come right back around to SW....almost there

Too across really. From what the graphic showed on the TB the boats could pretty much just reach from one mark to the other which wouldn't be very interesting or involve much skill.
They seem to be waiting for the expected wind shift, rather than realigning the course (they don't have much room for that I think). -
shit that pass was close to being a port starboard, thought jimmy might have feigned having to avoid

loving the wind shadow grahics

@nzzp i think we made him mad

I've been thinking for some time why the hell they didn't have something like that.
Also - a simple graphic showing wind direction. All in all - the
WWEAmericas Cup organisers have listened to the criticisms about how boring it's been, and the sorely lacking coverage-graphics - and re-written the match scripts to add some excitement, as well as finally providing some of the basic graphics/info one would expect.
Well done Vince. -
We seem to be faster than them. But Jimmy is keeping us at bay. One mispicked shift and it could be anyone's
@canefan yeah, we seem to be able to make up 150m with little trouble but kimmy has always spotted it and been on top to give us some bad air
