@antipodean I don't know what to say.

@antipodean so that and Raging Bull are the only ones I've definitely heard of in the top 5. That would make 3/5 I haven't heard of. If FAFDM is Clint then I can add one more I guess.

But that well lags my chick flick count, and I've even never seen a Harry Potter movie. I haven't even heard of 3 of the top 5 men's ones You haven't heard of Das Boot? I've only heard of Das Boot and Raging Bull. So not #1, #2 and #5 I am a movie heathen Edit, I've also never heard of #6, #9 and #10.

@Machpants said in Re: Movie review thread...: Not so much heathen as philistine! Admittedly I don't expect people to know the two Indian language movies in 5 and 6! Never heard of them either I'll wear it. Though IMO any "mens" movie list that doesn't include Draft Day or the Replacements doesn't stack up...

In terms of a review, watched Chef with Jon Favreau last night (2014). Solid entertainment, quite enjoyable. Hit the right notes, some decent casting, well worth a watch for light entertainment. The food is soft core porn at times; got hungry watching. Four Cubanos out of five chef's knives

Watched Oceans 13 last night. Totally predictable, but I always like the retro 70s look of the films, top cast and they are always decked out well. An enjoyable film that doesn't make you work hard. 4 heart attacks out of 5 cougar attracting pheromone patches

Have all three on mysky and watch them often. I have never watched the original though even though I saw it was on the other day.

Yes they do look a lot of fun; just an excuse to work a bit, get paid well and hang out in Vegas for a while. I remember reading about the original Sinatra film, the Rat Pack just took over Vegas for a while. Shooting the movie during the day, shows at night, generally drinking and socialising late into the morning. Oh and special mention to Ellen Barkin who looked smokin'

I've been doing a rewatch of them all recently (but a bit at a time rather than in big chunks). Have you watched Logan Lucky which is basically a redneck Oceans movie?
