Have never seen a Harry Potter movie because for some reason the Daniel Radcliffe irritates me immensely, if you feel the same way check out a flick called My Boy Jack .It's a great story , well acted and Daniel Radcliffe gets machine gunned to death . 
 
Saw the planet of the apes movie the other night, wasn't expecting much after the turd of a film with Wahlberg in it but it was actually bloody good.8/10 Anthny Serkis must get sick of acting in movies and no one seeing his face.

I just hope Piri Weepu is getting plenty of royalties from that one as they seem to be using him to model their CGI characters on.

I only remember the start and end of The Last StarFighter so this was really the first I have seen (or remember) the film as a whole. 
Really fun film to watch and I love the cheesy music and special effects. 
It would also be one of the few 80s film that I think could be made into a good sequel/remake.

Great 80's childhood movie mate, complete with some awesome (for their time) computer effects.

Super 8 - well you could tell it was a JJ Abrahms film, shades of Cloverfield, but better, still not great, but decent enough. 
 
Limitless - enjoyed this, Bradley Cooper, Abby Cornish, Robert De Niro; Cooper is a wannabe writer, who meets up with his ex-brother-in-law who offers him a 'trial' drug, all of a sudden, he writes a book, takes on the stock market in a recession, nice wee twist at the end.

Rango. Weird but brilliant. Not really a kids movies but my kids still enjoyed it. 9/10

Just watched No Strings Attached with Mrs Jack . Predictable as hell , though was still quite funny in places and very easy to watch . 7/10

Yeah all well and good but look how shithouse they look compared to Star Wars (1977). Call me biased but I reckon they hold up pretty well even by todays standards. 
 
Last Starfighter ( yes I watched it too ) was good fun to watch again once I got over my wife laughing at me. I have quite happy memories of watching it in the 80's with my Grandfather.

Hired it out for the kids two weeks ago on Blu-Ray and thoroughly enjoyed it. The shit they're doing with graphics these days is phenomenal - I've got a Samsung Series 8 LED (46") and the level of detail has blown my mind.

How is it that you can manage to control the spending to the extent of a 46" LED yet can't get a say in the food prep? Just saying?

You should have seen the extended grief I copped for it though! Even though I got it on sale for a song and it has improved the quality of life tenfold.

How could it be parodic if it predates the 'era' of the buddy cop movies - the 80s? Maybe it was the blueprint they were all striving for?

Gullivers Travels - thought this was actually a decent watch, enjoyed it really. 
Rango - cool, certainly worth a watch. 
Source Code - bit confused about this one, seemed quite good through the most but a bit weak at the end - setting it up for more to come? 
Lincoln Lawyer - similar to Source Code, cool movie and quite enjoyed it but weak ending, made it almost seem like a pilot for a series.
