A mate of mine works in the stats department at Auckland Uni. He was one of the participants given the survey. He wrote to the senior editor at Stuff advising them that the survey was structured in such a way as to be biased towards this result, and it was unlikely that anything of statistical significance could be determined from it. I guess they went ahead and published anyway.

@Duluth This was what I was saying a few months ago when posters were taking pot shots at the residents. There's one very vocal guy who's leading a a tiny group of whingers and that's all the press has focussed on until now.
@Nepia always the way!
Vocal minority, claiming to be part of the majority scream louder.

Be nice if they kept the Eden part. ASB Eden Park maybe? If they're spending the money it'd make sense for it to just be ASB Stadium or ASB Park.
-
Big bump.
ASB is expected to be named the sole naming rights sponsor of Eden Park tomorrow. ASB Stadium?

That’s very disappointing.
Will always be Eden Park to me. Understand the new realities, but it’s still a bit upsetting.

Probably something like that - that's how Lancaster Park was referred to (Jade Stadium).
I've been to 3 rugby games there, and the ground had a different name on each of those occasions.
A sponsor will want their name to be prominent if they are paying millions for naming rights.
-
@Tim Lancaster Park at Jade Stadium doesn't work for you?
Was the other way round at Lancaster Park i.e. Jade Stadium at Lancaster Park. Commentators tried just calling it Lancaster Park at first, but got pulled into line by someone over it (for the obvious commercial reasons of not giving sponsors their money's worth) and it just became Jade Stadium over time.

@Hooroo I thought someone on here told us a while back people in Wellington dont call it the caketin?

@taniwharugby @Hooroo yeah Wellingtonians get precious about 'The Stadium'.
