These teams they come up with are so stupid. They have no criteria other than a connection of sorts.
Players that never played for the province, players that never played for the province and the Canes at the same time, players that only played for the province after they finished at the Canes....Should be just players selected for Canes from either the province main team or age group. Only exceptions being players that are strongly associated with the province through a high number of caps

Same as best teams/players ever, is impossibly to compare and all subjective anyway. Still, fun to discuss with mates. Not so keen on these things that the canes keep putting out tho

The Manawatu one could be a stretch even for these storytellers.

That looks like James Tucker, but I don't recognise anyone else. I thought he was still in Italy?

Verney, Aumua, Taukei'aho and McWhannell are four names I expected to be in the Chiefs team but can't have been. BTW, Allardice was on the bench for Melville today (according to the team lists).

I will try to find out from the Chiefs.

I spoke to the Chiefs and they were meant to email me the team lists. I will follow-up.

The chiefs had no contracted players except for Falcon. They must of let him go home for the weekend but then I heard he was warming up with the chiefs team against the blues as 24th man

Assuming this is his own hand, I wonder how many games Fidow will miss because of this?

FFS, now TJ (MCL rupture) and Amua(wrist fracture)are out for an extended period of time. Is it just me or does anyone else feel that the NZ teams are getting a hell of a lot more injuries than the Aussies and the South Africans?

Had a few spare minutes and decided to check the Wellington club rugby line-ups to see which Canes' were playing yesterday (and, therefore, not/no longer injured). Although, I also found a Blues player.

Isaia Walker-Leaware, Finlay Christie (both Poneke); Peter Umaga-Jensen (Wainuiomata); Jackson Garden-Bachop, Leni Apisai (Northern Utd); Ben May (a namesake or the Canes' prop?) (OBU).

Walker-Leaware lasted barely 20 minutes before hobbling off with some sort of knee injury whilst Christie came on for about the last 20 minutes.

Wes Goosen posted on instagram today that he has a broken jaw. He has had surgery.
So I guess he'll be out of action for about 2 months.

@tim Kaifa, Uluafouna, Tofilau and Taulagi are all players who have moved to Hawke's Bay this year. Only Taulagi has a full Magpies contract; the others hope to earn a spot in the Magpies squad via club rugby.

The starting line-up of that Canes Dev squad looks reasonably good, but that bench ..... quite a few Heartland players.

Japan Rugby posted score updates on twitter, but didn't give the names of the Canes' try scorers.

                                          From the above article:

The Hurricanes lost flanker Sam Henwood to concussion, but No 8 Blade Thomson, in his comeback 40 minutes, was the commanding figure in the first half.
