Fiji run in try number 6 which is converted.
Final score Fiji 36 Samoa 7..
Fiji looking very ominous in this form..be a tough ask for NZ in the final.

Women’s final score Australia 14 New Zealand 10..not a bad effort from a young NZ team, but they will be disappointed have had all the ball and field position in the 2nd half.

Fiji score 3 minutes into extra time after Collier gets sent to the bin for a deliberate knock down leaving only 6 defenders on the field,Fiji win 17-12 ..brilliant final..!,full credit to NZ for forcing the game into extra time,a conversation could have won it,but that’s footy I guess..can see why Joe Ravouvou could not make the Auckland Mitre 10 Cup team..has just got no idea of doing the right thing at the right time..needless offloads and hands like feet..!

I reckon my other half would be pretty good at this game.

Woke up in time to see both finals. Not a bad result for both teams. The BFs Dev team has some really talented players and no doubt, some of them will make it into the main squad this season if injuries strike. They looked really knackered in the second half, but they kept trying.

This also wasn't a full strength AB7s squad, but most of usual starters were there to provide cover from the bench. To comment on a few: Knewstubb looked really good again today, and McGarvey-Black was classy, and Gregory showed his potential. Don't think I'll ever like Collier; Haugh didn't impress but is a rookie, so may still improve a lot; Bunce, hmmm, not sure he'll rise above development level; Masirewa, too inconsistent?

                      @stargazer

Not deliberately trying to disagree as I value your analysis, but I thought the repeated uncharacteristic errors from Knewstubb held us back throughout the tournament, although he was better in the final. Gregory tries hard, but is too individual for me. Collier and Dickson were always the class acts. McGarvey-Black and Masirewa were both a threat always, but too many errors.

Very rusty through our matches, but this tournament will improve our depth. Just need to build rhythm, and put our kick-offs in the right zone.

Tomorrow is the Ignite 7s tournament in Waitakere (Trust Arena). This tournament follows a few days of intensive testing of approx. 96 young athletes (not just rugby players). More on that in the article below.

There have been several changes to the teams that I posted earlier in this thread here. As the All Blacks website only seems to know the names of sons of former All Blacks, they mention only one of these changes:

There have been several changes to the eight respective men’s and women’s squads – Inferno, Bolt, Surge and Power - named prior to the tournament with a number of players withdrawn after medical checks during the registration process.

Among the players not to make it to the start line was recently contracted All Blacks Sevens player Niko Jones who has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury. Jones will remain with his Inferno team for the week but will be unable to take part in the tournament.

I've only checked the Hawke's Bay players, and Lincoln McClutchie is one of the other players no longer appearing in the team lists, so either he is also injured, or he is training with the HB 7s squad, or maybe the Canes have asked him to join them for preseason :folded_hands: .

You can check the updated team lists here: https://www.ignite7.co.nz/teams/

The games will be broadcast on Sky Sport 1 tomorrow. This is the draw:

The Condor Sevens are this week, with the U15 boys and girls starting on Thursday, 29 November, and the Open boys and girls tournament starting on Saturday.

Sky Sport will cover Field #1 of the Open Division:
Saturday (12-6pm) on Sky Sport 2
Sunday (11am-5:30pm) on Sky Sport 1

All other games (including U15) will be streamed live on https://www.sidelineapp.com/ . Access to the livestreaming can be purchased from Wed 28 November, 9am.

Here is the provisional draw for the Open boys & girls tournament. Note they've messed up a few games (boys v girls teams, or they've just typed it wrong). You may need extra strong glasses to be able to read it. :glasses:

Northland have just announced their men's team (not sure whether they have a women's team). From other provinces, I've only seen wider training squad lists.
