Tele’a should be pissed off. His tackle was innocuous in comparison.

@stargazer Wow! That one seemed pretty black or white to me.

Either it was accidental or it was intentional and if the latter he would go for a significant skate.

Not sure where this shade of grey comes from.

@chris-b Accidental or reckless or intentional. Intentional would always have been red. Accidental, would always be a penalty only or at most a YC. But when it's considered reckless, other factors come into play, such as whether Renton's foot made contact with the head and things like whether the player on the ground was moving.

It's really unfortunate that they don't always seem to publish the reasons for these warnings.

Thought in the semi, the BBs lacked punch (no pun intended) up front and incision at the back. Where were the big ball runners? Lost count of how many times the ball was stripped or dropped. Also our kicking game was poor. If you're going to kick, it should be pinpoint for your chasers to run on to and regather.
We looked very rugby=league like and not in a good way, fanning out too much on D. Hell. we just gave them too much ball, and we squandered our own opportunities.

You know I'm really beginning to dislike the French. Hopefully sunday morning we can wake up and still be talking abou the rugby played...

Waikato prop Oliver Norris gets his first start, in his first match at the tournament, while Kaliopasi Uluilakepa joins him on the otherside of the front row. Waimana Riedlinger-Kapa moves from the flanks to lock, to replace Will Tucker, making room for Hoskins Sotutu to start at number 8.

Changes to the backline see Kaleb Trask start at first five-eighths, moving Harry Plummer to the midfield, while Canterbury’s Ngane Punivai gets his first chance of the tournament, starting at fullback.

Good by Georgia. Beating both Scotland and Ireland in that tournament and finishing above them.

6 Nations teams don't even include Georgia in their U20 tournaments, unlike what we bastions of the game do down here with the Oceania U20s.

The Celts, stifling rugby's growth since ages ago .......

Shouldn't he be from Fielding then?

Last weekend, Fiji U20 won the 2018 World Rugby U20 Trophy. This means that Fiji will play in the World Rugby U20 Championship in 2019 instead of Japan, that finished last in this year's U20 Championship.

Fiji beat Samoa U20 58-8 in the Final.

This thread seems to be the best place to post this.

While the World Rugby U20 Trophy is the qualification tournament for the World Rugby U20 Championship, the Oceania Rugby Under 20s tournament is a qualification tournament for the World Rugby U20 Trophy. The next WR U20 Trophy will be played in Brazil, next year.

Today, is the first match of the Oceania tournament between Samoa U20 and Tonga U20. The second is on Saturday.

Charles Alaimalo has been named in the Samoan squad:

@stargazer You'll probably find quite a few from the recent U19 tournament in both teams.

Brian Lima also played for Waikato. He's the son of The Chiropractor.
