    Of the teams named so far, the Chiefs look the best bet.

    @bovidae I always find the May hate a bit weird. He was good for the Canes last year and was useful for the Chiefs.

    @bones

    I don't hate May but he is a frustrating player as he can be either be very good (by SR standards) or an absolute liability and penalty magnet in any game. He is also 35 now so hardly a selection for the future.

    I'm going to say it now.

    Fuck these 10s and their season wrecking injuries!

    Agreed. If there was no 10's 2 years ago, I'm pretty sure there would be Richard Buckman, All Black, instead of ALB AB

    @stockcar86 Haha well played. Happened in a 15 aside preseason fixture vs Racing in Hong Kong wasn't it?

    So there's no change then. Last year Walker, Latham, Larkham, Tuqiri, Samo, Turinui were all named to play.

    All a year slower etc. I understand from a coach's perspective I wouldn't want to risk more of my squad than necessary, but trotting out retirees...

    Is it morphing into one of those old timers comps they have in the states - or the senior tennis tour, or the short lived masters cricket comp. Seeded with young talent and maybe a front liner they are gagging to get match fit asap. Balanced against the risk of injury of course.

    I'd say no-one from the Crusaders' best 23 squad in that team - very few who would even make a second XV. A few names I barely recognize.

    Surprising to me that Will Jordan hasn't featured in either this squad or vs the Hurricanes. Is he injured or is Razor keeping him under wraps?

    @tim I thought that West would have been a pick for the Canes, he seems tailor made for 10s.
