This is one of the few occasions when I'm happy to read something on the Exodus thread.

Not meaning any disrespect, Julian goes down as an All Black great.

But this is a good move for all parties.

The curse of the All Black 40+ try scoring greats continues. ( not to mention the tradition of outside backs who’s career is over at 26/27)

I fucken loved Jules during his time in black. That warm glow that one of our wingers could and would get us 5 points from seemingly nothing, ( the Caleb Ralph day's still scar).

So it's hard not to feel anything but well done, thanks and good luck le bus.

In his prime he was the closest thing to Jonah that I've seen

I was thinking the same. Howlett's AB try-scoring record looks to be safe for a while yet.

              Quoting myself .....

To clarify, it we had a 12 team domestic professional comp. I would love for Julian to stay.

But we are squeezing our players into just 5 teams for financial reasons, and it is time for Julian to move on and free up the space and money for the Vince Aso's of this world.

sigh, 'bye Jules you legend, at your peak you were unstoppable.

Remember when he first played for the 'canes, and he was shit? Then suddenly he was fucking amazing, and then just okay, and then barely super rugby standard.

For all his feats, that quarter against the French will live in the memory for a while

Yeah has been a sad decline to watch. Was really hoping he would be the first to score 50 test tries for the ABs. Time for Reiko to do it.
That french qtr will be my enduring memory of Jules. That was the closest to a Lomu performance IMO.
Nadolo was big and had a few spectacular moments but for me he didn't have the speed or balance to go with his size that Lomu and Jules had. Often it would just take a light touch from a defender and he would come crashing down.

Nadolo (not Naholo) has performed consistently for Fiji in recent years to a very high level. Last World Cup he was outstanding against England and Australia in pool play.

@canefan I believe @SammyC is referring to Nemani Nadolo not Waisake Naholo

                                  Righto oh then....

I haven't seen that much of him, what Super franchise did he play for again? I'll give him greater consideration when he performs with distinction vs the ABs in a test match. Julian did the business at Super Level and against the world's best in tests. Not just the power, it was the power and pace

Julian never had to do it vs the ABs either.

Nadolo (not Naholo) has performed consistently for Fiji in recent years to a very high level. Last World Cup he was outstanding against England and Australia in pool play.

Yeah mate, was being a little mischievious there. I saw Jonah live (albeit as it turned out early unwell Jonah) and he was phenomenal. I saw Julian too, I remember the first time it was for the Canes and the first thing I thought of was Jonah. Both players would grace any team at their peak. I'd still take Jonah over both of them πŸ˜‰

Good luck to him, amazing the drop-off though, looked like he was just going to cruise the try scoring record.

Savea's weight is going to go through the roof. If you thought he came back to the Canes unfit after 2 seasons in France he will be done.

Nah, Liam will look after him, water bottle in hand.

Jules will like Quick though. πŸ” πŸ”

He's going to really be Le Bus if he chooses this team mate as his bestie
