Awesome stuff you see on the internet

They will be down a player. But some of the 25 players dressed -- such as back-up goalie and 4th-liners who are employed for "truculence" and typically thrown onto the ice only to ignite something -- rarely get ice time, it's not a huge disadvantage. Coaches will cover by shuffling or giving extra shifts to the first three lines. Most teams go with four lines, but you could conceivably play an entire game with three forward lines (9 players), two defence pairs (4 players) and one goalie, so that (again, conceivably) leaves 11 remaining "character" or "role" players to sit and wait for the coach to throw on the ice. They'll include the backup goalie, some penalty kill specialist, defenders, one-or-two goons, and the rest "grinders." Quite often stars from the 2nd-or-3rd lines will be in the starting line-up, but their coaches will bench them and restrict their ice-time for making dumb mistakes and send them a message that their careers are in jeopardy, so teams are used to players who are dressed never seeing action.

Adding: The seamless transitions where teams to change lines throughout the game (unlimited substitution) without a stoppage while still in action is poetry-in-motion. Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't think of any other team sport that permits such a law, where players can inter-change (join-and-leave) the playing area while the play is still active. (What's the rule in Rugby League? Does interchange have to be done after a whistle and before a re-start, or can they interchange in the middle of a set while the ball is still in play?)
-

For those that don't follow, the V8 Supercar series has recently been expanding from just Ford v Holden to Nissan and Mercedes (2013) and Volvo (2014). This was the post race interview of Race 2 of the season where young Kiwi driver Scott McLauglin managed second place in his Volvo by overtaking the top Holden driver on the last corner. His classic 'plucked it into first and gave it some jandal.... f*ck yeah!' line has gifted the team a marketing slogan and a lot of fans...
