TR I have used that particular piece of wisdom in raising my two Ms Catos. It's a sad state of affairs but that is the view in the world. Not fair. Not right. But that's how it is.

-

do you put a key into a lock or not?

I agree, not a great way the world views it, but thought that was amusing.

Miss TR is a pain now, god knows what she will be like as a teenager!
-

I did get the phallic analogy just didn't agree with the sentiment.

I can't see why men want to perpetuate the concept of women treating their sexuality as a 'treasure' that is held out as 'reward'. It just encourages sexual favours being just that. Favours.

Think of your fellow man and all those boys that would love to be in a sexually liberated environment.
-

However you choose to perpetuate the view?

Why is women a 'lock' and not a 'man'. Can a woman not be a 'key'?

(all said by a bloke without a daughter btw)

I've been thinking about how best to respond to this and have come to the conclusion that I shall take your first question seriously.

I don't feel that I perpetuate this really as I used it as an example of the reality of most people's thinking and as a warning to the two young Ms Catos that they should be aware of the unfairness of such things and take this into account whilst making up their own minds on such matters. More of a warning to them rather than a piece of advice.
-

Fair call. Bit rough of me to question your parenting.

Just trying to make the point that while parents (in general) perpetuate this as the norm it will continue to be so.
-

I'll be promoting no sex until marriage....

The sooner you face the fact that some spotty teenager will one day be popping your little girl's cherry the easier it will be to cope with TR.
