Was on a flight between SFO and LAX today. Reading the New York Times and the leading obituary was Keith Murdoch.
Not a bad read and was written by Huw Richards who, presumably, was the Welshman Buck KO’d in 1987. When he woke up he was sent off.

Without a doubt one of the greatest character roles in the history of movies.
He came down to NZ to reprise it in PJ’s “Frighteners.”

What a legend - in an absolutely mad sport. When I hitched around Scandinavia in the early 80's a mention of Mauger almost guaranteed a free feed.
We really were a force in Speedway in those days. Remember seeing him race at the Springs. Knew he'd been ill didn't realise how bad he was.

Pretty convincing as a drill sergeant, probably because that is what he was!
Also excellent in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre flicks. RIP indeed.

Wow. I can honestly say I haven't heard a peep from anyone in that show until now. Funny how some actors fade into complete obscurity.
