Oh yeah, it was nice in the Bay on the weekend (I wore a t shirt to the Canes match), and even Wellington was decent on Friday.

It was a beauty alright, far out. I'm in an apartment complex (city living!) so wasn't affected, but have friends who have lost the roof of their house etc. Pretty serious stuff.
Also got woken up at 2.30AM by some absolute nutter letting off fireworks outside our building in the middle of the storm - seriously WTF is wrong with some people?
That's hilarious!! Are your sure it wasn't powerlines arcing?

@Hooroo definitely fireworks, the ones that shoot a ball into the air which then explodes. Some.... interesting folks roam the streets of Auckland at night.
