@stockcar86 It's getting pretty mental. Did a tour in Croatia earlier in the year and was losing my shit at the younger ladies holding everyone up at various look-outs while they tried to get their perfect selfie. I'm talking like 30 odd shots. I'm just a one and go and if it looks ridiculous all the better.

@rembrandt It's getting to the point where all manner of politeness and social contract are discarded in the pursuit of conceit. I now approach this nonsense by saying "you've had enough time" and simply walk into the shot.
And I say that as someone who has the patience to set up a tripod etc. for a single shot, while telling/ gesturing to other tourists that they can wander into the frame and get a photo if they so desire. But I notice there's becoming fewer and fewer tourists who are mindful of their impact on others.
I read somewhere an article that bemoaned this increasing behaviour and put it down to the democratisation of travel; low cost providers permitting low rent people to fly OS.

@antipodean I posted an article on this topic in the alternative thread a few weeks back showing queues of people waiting to go to locations purely for a pic, and thats without considering the ones who overstay thier time.

@antipodean Actually that reminds me, one of the bird on my tour, kinda plain looking redhead, lovely girl but a little overweight anyway she did lots of pics, I didn't think much of it, but when I got back home I was noticing all these amazing photos of a hot as hell red-head on my facebook feed, couldn't for the life of me work out who it was initially. Had to do some facebook stalking before I realised it was the same girl just an incredibly good photographer with good filters. Pretty tragic really...especially when I've tagged her in the more plain photos I took.
