@Stargazer I’m pretty bloody happy with that, Kayo works well and knowing I have access to all the games is great.

Am I the only one having issues with Kayo? As I said on another thread I have not gotten through an evening of rugby without it cutting out.

Seems to work ok for me, occasionally I will get buffering but I'm not sure if thats my internet connection as I'm on wireless NBN. Have you tried different devices, like Computer, Ipad, phone etc?

I get less buffering if I play 15 secs behind live. But yes, for a streaming service there's a lot of buffering. And it's not like my internet is slow.

Trying to switch to the Roosters v Souths game has pretty much confirmed for me that I'm going to give Kayo the boot.

Tried to stop the cast of the rugby and it wouldn't stop, even when I turned the iPad off and switched the tv over to Netflix. Was fobbed off by Kayo support and given no support and then when I managed to restart it by turning everything off and then on again was told "there you go" by the Kayo support person.

It's now been 4 weeks of Kayo and I've had an issue every week - and the second game I watch in a night always has issues and drops back down to less than 480p. Not worth the $15 a month saving.

I see the Spark Sports app has poor reviews. Have many people here tried the service?

I signed up for the free trial and watched the last F1 race. The app's UI wasn't great but the stream was fine

If there's one thing you shouldn't fuck with in NZ it's RWC coverage. Spark may need to change their branding and name again if this doesn't go smoothly.

Have only copied and pasted the bits about broadcasting rights & pricing:

Aggressive new broadcasting entrant Spark Sport has reaffirmed its interest in rugby content and backed the Nations Championship concept as New Zealand Rugby looks for ways to fill its coffers and keep its best players.

Since it secured the rights to the Rugby World Cup, Spark has not been afraid of admitting that it is in the market for more rugby rights.

"We've been quite open that we're interested in all sports rights going forward, including rugby," Latch said.

That puts it in direct competition against Sky Sports, and creates the sort of competitive tension that NZR is likely benefit from.

"I haven't had any conversations with anybody about the rights for this new championship but because of the number of fixtures involved, and the teams involved, I guess the thinking is that it's quite a compelling array of rugby content, and high quality rugby content, and therefore would have a reasonably significant value for broadcasters," he said.

However, he was less certain about Sanzaar proceeding with a competition to bring in Japan and Fiji if the northern unions walked away.

"There could be value but it would be reduced relative to having everyone in," Latch said.

Latch said Spark would also release its Rugby World Cup pricing plans "within the next two weeks", although he wouldn't comment on whether $100 was still a ballpark figure for the cost of a complete Rugby World Cup package.

However, users would still be able to pick and choose which games they wanted to buy on an individual basis.

Former Sky Sports presenter Scott Stevenson will be a central figure in Spark's coverage, Latch confirmed, with "a mix of leading rugby personalities" to be unveiled within the next month or so.

He has joined TVNZ and Spark for World Cup and beyond. Maybe confirmed about 4(?) months ago?

Not sure I like that much as most of the rugby personalities running around add nothing of any benefit. In fact they often detract from it.

Not really to do with the RWC, but I didn't know where else to post this.
