Interesting - 12 months ago Preston was the Blues starting 6 and there was a lot of preseason hype around him. Now he can't even start for Blues A.
@KiwiMurph Yes he had an awful 20 minutes against the Highlanders before getting injured. Might see some gametime due to having the 2 most injury prone loosies in the world with Gibson and Brown in the squad.

@taniwharugby Yep, but some good background on the coach.

@Tim there’s a few on the blog that would not have seen that article on Konia..interesting to see Wiseguy Faiane on the bench for the Bs..

We'll probably lose tomorrow, but let's enjoy this memory tonight:
How can you be so chill with the prospect of gloating Cantabs on the horizon?

Because the worst coach we’ve ever had is no longer in control, life is good.

True but SJK has only been gone less than 4 years.

I’d take Kirwan or Jed over the dumpster fire that was Tana’s reign. Look at the stats thread, demonstrably the worst coach we’ve ever had. I lost count of the records, but the one that stands out is the 60point loss on Eden Park.
What did he percentage end up against Kiwi teams? 5%?

I'm looking forward to this season - either the Blues do great and Leon is a genius or they are terrible and it's all the defence coach's fault.

Leon pretty much has a free pass this year, because he didn't select most of the squad. Still a few Tana stinkers to flush out (Pulu, Collins, etc). Still hoping to at least see some organisation in how the team plays, but they didn't sack Tana early enough to realistically affect this years results.
Leon only has to beat two NZ teams to double Tana's success rate again NZ teams over three years. Two!
