His version of patience is fucken awful but he can rock out with the best of them.

@mn5 haven't really listened to his rock stuff, but some singers shouldn't do acoustic and I reckon he is one of them. Just like some wonderful acoustic singers shouldn't rock.

Not much danger of him releasing anything new nowadays.
On the whole I’m not a fan of acoustic stuff, it takes an absolutely exceptional artist to make it work ( vocals and unplugged guitar only ) and most don’t cut it in my opinion.

I agree, not many can do it successfully. An artist really has to pick songs that match their vocals and not all songs translate into a good acoustic song.
I love acoustic. It can transport me to a happy place and I get great energy from it. A good acoustic singer let's the melody take centre stage. Melody is what a song is all about for me.

Some of those MTV Unplugged albums are really good. I prefer the full bands than solo artists though.
Bit of a novelty in the 90s but I don’t think any of them did anything better than the original ( ie full band ).
I saw Ben Harper on an acoustic tour and he just ended up sounding like a busker after a few songs. Pretty dreary as opposed to when he has the rest of the boys backing him up.

I love a good cover, particularly enjoying Miley cyrus lately maybe because of the edge of midnight song. I love this song, my favourite version is by Aslan though but this is pretty good. Nice voice.
This was no where near as terrible as I assumed it would be.
Much better singer than her Dad ever was.
