@MajorRage a few people quoted in that article have already backed away from their statements. Which is interesting.

@MajorRage said in What are you listening to, right now................: Not what I'm listening to as such, but if you are a big fan of the Foo Fighters, then this is a really interesting read about Taylor. Drumming in hard rock groups is a fucken tough gig and only gets harder the older you get. There’s a reason Bill Ward didn’t tour with Sabbath during their reunion. At 70 odd he simply wasn’t up to it. Sounds like Hawkins knew his time was up. Really sad.

I get a lot of mileage out of the compilation cd Iron Leg, pulled together as a labour of love by DJ Shadow after he discovered them 40 years after the fact and became obsessed tracking down every song they ever recorded. There’s not a weak track on the collection. Mostly instrumental soul/r&b/funk, somewhere between James Brown’s Band and Booker T & the MGs, with occasional Hendrixian wah-wah pedal.

I loaned that documentary to several friends who believed they were watching a mockumentary like Spinal Tap, they’d never heard of them and swore they couldn’t believe they were a real band. It is one of the best rock docs out there.

@broughie said in What are you listening to, right now................: @MN5 would like to see him in concert. Like some of his James Gang stuff including The Bomber:, Woman and Funk 49. The confessor is awesome as well post James Gang. We will part ways of the Eagles. ‘The smoker you drink the player you get’ is just a fantastic album too.

@broughie said in What are you listening to, right now................: @MN5 Yep. His voice is unique but you don't have to have a church choir voice to connect with your audience like your favorite Mark Knopfler or Johnny Cash. Pretty Maids all in a row is a good example of the effectiveness of his voice. I don’t know if this is a compliment or not. Anyway here’s another album to listen to….a great soundtrack to how I’d imagine life was in the 70s
