Oh hey, did I ever post that I sat next to the manager of the band Mayhem on a plane once? She got busted for drinking her own beer (pretty rock n roll) and was fairly amusing ("the hardest thing about managing a metal band is explaining to the rest of the band that the lead singer is gay").

haha aren't they Norwegian or something? That scandinavian black metal was always just a little too much for me.

She would have been an interesting person to chat to, she would have seen some fucked up shit.

I reckon "Live After Death" is my favourite live album ever, an excellent band at the peak of their powers

Old. Boring.
Unless you're too wrapped up in your Pierre Boulez, you have a big gap in your taste.

haha! Yeah, you're right Tim, there's a place for everything alright. I've just never been able to wrap my head around that kind of stuff. Maybe I should stop trying to 'get it' and just ... get it.

It's pretty good from 4 minutes when she gets into her witchy persona - from around 5 minutes she really lets go. Awesome - far better than their heavily manufactured albums.

Not sure she's seeing much, though! :)

Not often I think old guys make a better job of their original, 40 years later, but this version might just be. Gary Brooker is sensational!
