I thought Friday was the 5th this week? Or have they switched to metric days?

Maybe they only have 32 jerseys and pairs of socks in the kit bag.

As we know the Hawke's Bay Under 16 team won the Hurricanes tournament for the first time since 2014.

HB beat Wellington twice in the tournament - in the round-robin game and then in the final.

So, of course, the Hurricanes Under 16 Tournament team (22 boys) is named and contains nine from Wellington and only six from Hawke's Bay ...

Even more astonishing is that the Hurricanes deigned to award the player-of-the-tournament to a Hawke's Bay boy - Treyah Kingi-Taukamo.

Surely the Hurricanes could have gone the whole way and flipped two fingers in our direction instead of just one?

@number-10 It's always the same story, isn't it? Frustrating. They have more opportunities to watch these Welly boys play, maybe even know some of them. Maybe they find it hard to overlook them just for that reason? They should come out of Wellington more, to the Bay.

The Tui have lost their semi 10 - 34. They missed Cottrell badly; without her, there's no good game management, no creativity on attack. That's not Williams fault; she had to play out of position. There were too many handling errors, but the players showed great attitude. They kept playing until the final whistle. Jefferson, Powdrell and Tipiwai looking good, but the Tui desperately need to find younger players in some positions. Several players over thirty in this team and some of them are just too slow.
