That was an odd game. NZ phasing in and out of that game, at times looking like they had money on Aus, for example, why was Mikkelson lying on the ground watching for the Aus try to draw level?
Good to get the win, but definitely didn't look to be 100% application.
Apart from Webber, without him we lose that.

@Bones I heard part of an interview on the radio earlier today (I don't know who it was) and it was mentioned that there are a few players playing with "niggles". So some of them are not 100% fit. I didn't hear names.
@Stargazer that would make sense, Mikkelson has been making it look really hard from what I've seen this tournie. Curry has looked off the pace and hobbled off. Even Ware doesn't look to have his usual game breakiness.

Geez, those Fijians make it look so easy!
They also oddly get away with a lot of breakdown shenanigans that other teams don't.

I really don't get this NZ team, so fucken inconsistent, so frustrating. Get off to a great start, then play like a bunch of amateurs. Have the ball for ages and do absolutely nothing with it, apart from predictably send the second to last man into the tackle, although seems no one on the nz team can predict it so they get turned over.

I maintain this has to be a coaching issue.

There's something not right in their environment it appears. Samoa didn't do anything special at all, NZ just looked to have zero interest at times. Making a tackle is a novelty.

Fiji up 19 - 0 at half time, but then 20 unanswered point from South Africa. Again ill-discipline a big factor.
Looking at the Series table, there's a clear top 5. Only the top 4 earns automatic qualification for the 2020 Olympics.
AB7s not safe yet. Need to step up.

Really impressed with Samoa. They just look like a bunch of plucky kids from the wrong side of the tracks, who found themselves in the big leagues.
